BEAUTIFUL truck!! A buddy had one and it was a blast to cruise around in and the manual made it just that much better!
But man…the prices these days…I know its a broken record and I’m getting tired of saying it myself…but $31k for a 27yo 165k mile truck…while in reality great condition…I just...
Uh… more info on this…? (I almost said “in for junk pics”…but realized I’d get crucified pretty quick, although, might have been worth it for the lol’s)
I finally saw some in the wild around the San Francisco area. Meh, not for me, but its not so bad I'd kill myself if I had to look at it for a long time.
I did see a LOT of EV "trucks" around the Yosemite area.(but not a ton of places to charge...)
With gas being around $5.75, I kind of get it...
How involved was this...? I just pulled the cover & left it off on my '19 Mustang when I installed a catch can.
I didn't like the huge gen 3 cover, but wow its pretty ugly without it.
I’m sort of surprised Ford hasn’t released something like this already. Most of the other car companies have an “off-roady” version of their crossover SUVs and they seem to be selling well. Even if they’re just used for a scary trip to WholeFoods or some shit…
Had this for a rental for a week & a half.
It was a low end rental spec Big Bend edition. It actually wasn’t bad. The 1.5eco was semi- adequate, but I’d definitely opt for a 2.0 if I had to own one. The only benefit of the 1.5 is the gauge reported 30mpg(I didn’t hand calculate it) and that was...
I’ve always wished US Mags would release the U101 slots in late model friendly offsets…but nothing yet.
This guy had custom wheels made by Augment Wheel Company to complete his Bill Stroppe “Baja Bronco” tribute, but I’m sure they were pricey!
If you go turbo, Marty at Mo's Speed Shop knows Panther tuning if you don't move to a stand alone system.
I was surprised simple mods to my buddies '07 Town car; P71 front swaybar, factory 21mm rear bar, home ported upper plenum & P71 intake(that requires a tune) actually feels pretty good...
You'll notice one thing missing from that video that was prominently displayed in all things TRX related...the engine soundtrack.
I totally get the turbo I6 has many advantages that outweigh engine sound. But it kind of reminds me of super foods that taste bad...I eat them because my mind can...
A friend of mine has super clean stuff and is tired of being worried about it, so he's building a rough around the edges '67 Bel Air with a leftover BBC and will beat it like a rented mule!
There are times when I'm worried about where I'm parking, did I clean it good enough...that this sounds...
Was this a special order that someone backed out on and you picked up? I thought Green Bordered window stickers indicated a customer special order?
What do you think of the Recaro's? I hate them in my wife's Focus RS...and I'm not a big guy.
Buddy lent me a stack of vintage Hot Rod mags and I thought this '69 Boss 302 ad was pretty cool.
What they used to advertise...valve size, optional gear ratios...now its "how big is the screen" or "automatic butt wiper"
I like my late model stuff, but this is just neat to see what guys were...
Too funny!! I watched this truck get built from a stock abandoned CL find...to much of how it looks now on the BangShift forums.
1973 F-250 - Turbo BBF - It's off to a new home! - The BangShift.com Forums
He sold it and looks like the new owner has continued the build, looks...
Well at least for GM's...OBS came about during the early 2000's when forums were just starting. We used NBS (new body style) to refer to the current 99-06 trucks, OBS (old body style) for 88-98 trucks and OOBS for square bodys.
This worked fine for a while... (eventually there was NNBS for the...
Yep, I hear you. I can't see where a conversion to ICE over electric makes sense, especially on a nice older truck, but I do find the concept interesting.
I like the thoughts of:
• 100% torque instantaneously
• Overall efficiency increases
• minimal driveline components/wear/service
The issue...
I am definitely curious about a fuel over electric concept like the Ramcharger vs. straight EV.
But, I'm not convinced that the efficiency improvement is good enough to warrant the effort.
The old Chevy volt used this idea, but I don't believe it was VASTLY more efficient than current ICE...
There is a rumor of a variant of this engine in a "TRX" but I assume it would have a significant power increase over the HO 3.0 available in other top trim trucks.
This test mule started the rumor. You can hear it at the 27 second mark. Sounds a little Supra'ish....?
