Over the years we have been around plenty of Steedafied Mustangs. From the pushrod SN-95s to the Coyote S197s, these cars always had a common theme. They were capable performers, but livable drivers. In other words, they worked well on the track, but retained a high level of streetability.

Steeda’s 2015 Mustang rolls on the company’s black ST-R mesh wheels. These 20-inchers wear Nitto NT-05 tires. “Our future plans are to drag race and road race the car, both the V8 and EcoBoost,” Dario said. “We are looking forward to seeing what this new outstanding platform can do.”

It looks as though that trend is set to continue into the S550 era. While plenty of companies were getting wild with their 2015 Mustang builds for SEMA, Steeda stayed the course with its theme of building a real-world performer. The company’s packages are built both as turnkey cars and as parts breeding test beds.

In the case of the cars, Steeda follows this mission statement: “The Steeda Autosports Q-Series line of performance Mustangs are ready and eager to take on any challenge. With a full complement of strategic modifications, these exclusive performance bred vehicles elevate the iconic Mustang to a completely new level of power, precision and driving exhilaration,” says the company. “Realizing that power means nothing without control, the engineers at Steeda have incorporated precision-engineered suspension and chassis modifications that keep the driver in command and deliver a level of performance that make them an unbeatable combination on the street, racetrack, or drag strip.”

That development is still in its early stages with this 2015, but you can see that Steeda is following that path with its S550 program. The company hit the track as soon as they took delivery of this car and began developing the parts that made it on this car. This isn’t a car that is just built for The SEMA Show, but it is the basis of the Steeda car and parts programs.

“The 2015 Steeda Mustang for SEMA features adjustable front and rear sway bars with our new suspension spring technology in addition to our short-throw shifter,” Steeda President Dario Orlando enthused. “More 2015 Mustangs are equipped with Steeda suspension at SEMA than any other brand!”

Known for its suspension upgrades, Steeda clearly put a lot into the development of its first round of S550 tweaks. Of particular significance are those new adjustable sway bars for the 2015 Mustang.

Opening up the inlet of the stock Coyote is one of Steeda Pro Flow cold-air intakes. This system is a no-tune-required inlet, so you can bolt it on and go.

“We were able to improve ride quality with exceptional cornering ability with a new spring technology only available through Steeda for the 2015 Mustang. Our Steeda sway bars provide increased roll stiffness and handle flatter in the turns,” Dario explained. “The adjustable front sway bar has an adjustment range between 18- to 53-percent increase in stiffness over the Performance Pack bars. The rear adjustable sway bar has an adjustment range between 30- to 65-percent increase in stiffness over the Performance Pack bars. You can adjust our Steeda sway bars to your driving preference.”

Adding a more aggressive look to the S550 bodylines are a custom painted hood with a blacked-out bulge and vents. Of course, the Steeda decals let you know this one is different.

Of course, this Steeda Mustang is still in the early stages of development as it heads off to fly the flag at The SEMA Show next week. We expected to see a full complement of Steeda parts for the new platform, and they will steadily roll out of the company’s production facilities.

“Future plans include new rear adjustable control arms, coil-over kits, front control arms, rear axle support braces, Tri-Ax shifters, etc,” Dario explained. “New parts will be added to the 2015 section of our site as we complete product development and move into production.”
