The crew at DiabloSport recently announced tuning support for the 2015 Mustang. So, you can now flash the latest Mustang with the company’s Trinity and InTune handheld tuners. The tuners are loaded with preloaded tunes and they will all support custom tunes from your tuner of choice.
The preloaded tunes offer increased performance with premium fuels (91- and 93-octane) and premium fuel with the addition of the popular JLT Performance cold-air intake system for the new Mustang GT. With just the premium-fuel tunes, the cars are said to pick up 15 horsepower and 30 lb-ft of torque, while the JLT and tune are said to be good for 28 horsepower and 50 lb-ft of torque. You can even make minor tweaks to the factory engine and transmission calibrations without a full recalibration.
“We made huge power on our Superflow Chassis Dyno, indicating the optimal tune for 93 octane. We optimized the factory timing and fueling maps through hundreds of dyno pulls to ensure peak performance—and the proof is in the numbers on the dyno sheet!” says the company. “While dyno graphs are great to show where our tunes make power (especially when the midrange is running 33 horsepower over stock), they don’t tell you what a car is going to do on the street.”
With the Trinity and InTune you can adjust gear ratio, cooling fan settings, tire size, rev limiter, shift firmness, mass airflow curve, exhaust cam timing, and the expected fuel and timing adjustments.
“Our tunes enhance throttle response, clean up automatic shifting, and raise rev limiters in an effort to shave seconds off your quarter mile time,” the company said. “When we took the car off the dyno and onto the street, there was an immediate difference in the overall drivability. From low- to midrange rpm, power delivery was strong and smooth, along with a nice firm shift. The tune livened the car up in an instant!”
