The world of Ford performance may be awash in the glories of Coyote, RoadRunner, and Voodoo engines, but there is still room for some old-fashioned grunt. If you are a fan of saying ‘there’s no replacement for displacement,’ Ford Performance Racing Parts has a new offering just for you—its 427 Aluminum Short-Block (PN M-6009-427A; $7,200).

Built with all-new parts right here in the United States, this FPRP 427 Aluminum Short-Block is ready to drop into your project car. With this combo you can add big-block cubes in a lighter small-block package, and use readily available heads and intakes.

No, this isn’t a storied FE engine. Instead, this is a four-bolt-main, 9.5-inch-deck aluminum Windsor block (PN M-6010-Z351) built to the same legendary displacement. That means you can add the induction and cylinder heads that you might already have and drop it right into your project car.

“Ford Racing Engineers have taken care of the toughest part of building a new engine by designing a strong a durable short-block that offers a wide range of power possibilities,” says Ford Performance Racing Parts. “We use only the best parts for our short-blocks, like a forged steel crankshaft, forged H-beam connecting rods with floating piston pins, forged Mahle pistons, and the Ford Racing aluminum block.”

So, if you are looking for an easy way to drop big-block displacement into your project car, while keeping big-block weight off the front end, the Ford Performance 427 Aluminum Short-Block might just be for you.
