Technology never stands still, and that’s especially true in the tuning world. Such is the case with DiabloSport’s sleek inTune device. The company has just announced the release of an updated version of this handheld tuner dubbed the inTune i2. It features an improved touchscreen, a faster processor, and a revamped user interface.
“DiabloSport has always been a name synonymous with performance tuning” Dan Dolan, Sales & Marketing Manager at DiabloSport, said, “and the i2 is really going to take the tuning experience to the next level.”
What sets the inTune i2 (PN i2020; $ 399) apart from its predecessors is the ability to store calibrations for multiple vehicles and tune them all with the same device, whether they are Ford or Brand X vehicles. You simple purchase a license for each additional vehicle you want to tune with the inTune i2 and you are set to add performance to all the vehicles in your driveway.
“Our guiding principle,” Dolan explained, “is to make it easy for anyone to get the biggest power gains. We created a new tuning mode called ‘Easy Tune’ that gets rid of the guess work.”
Here’s a little teaser video for the inTune i2…
This device is also designed to let both novice users and gearhead veterans tune their vehicles. With the Easy Tune feature, you simple answer a few questions to select the fuel grade, tire size, gear ratio and speed limiters for your ride. The i2 will handle the rest. Of course, if you want alter more parameters, you can use Advanced mode. Likewise, the i2 will also let you flash in custom tunes designed by a professional tuner.
What’s really cool is the latest inTune is compatible with almost any desktop computers, so you can easily access tune files, datalogs, and firmware updates via USB. “We have a lot of customers with Mac computers, so we wanted to include them too,” Dan added.
And, like many handheld devices, the inTune i2 is capable of reading and clearing your vehicles Diagnostic Trouble codes.
“Diagnostics are a huge part of what a tuner is all about. We wanted to make sure that the i2’s datalogging and code reading functions were rock solid,” Dan explained. “It’s like a window into your ride’s soul.”
So, if you are looking for a new tuning solutions, the DiabloSport inTune i2 is available now.
