2013 Grabber Blue Shelby GT500 coming soon....Ordered 3-27-12
2005 GT (current)
2012 Charger RT (current work vehicle)
I like what your are doing! Are we just talking straight line performance? Are road courses something to be considered?
Also, while we can't say exactly what a gt500 can be had for, I do think it's fair to throw out there what you can actually pick up a gtr and z06 for. I've been shopping for both, along waiting on more 2013 gt500 info.
Cheapest I've found the gtr was 4 grand off msrp. Specifically red ones but a gtr none the less
Z06s are selling so slowly, they are taking a hit on them. The cheapest I've found off a BASE z06 is 10,500 off and very common to find 8500 off the base.
Cheapest I've found a zl1 camaro is 400 off msrp but msrp seems to be the norm.
2013 Shelby GT500
Base: $56,500.00
Option pricing.
Shaker 1000 sound system: $1,295.00
Navigation w electronic package additional cost: $1,045.00
Recaro Seats: $1,595.00
Performance package: $3,995.00
Glass roof no sun roof: $1,995.00

If that's the base price I am screwed. I can't pay that. Dumb question: Is the launch and traction control part of the performance package or standard?

Mindset: Shopping for an '07-'12 GT500. The '13s are sweet but will cost more than I care to spend. I'm not ruling out a Boss 302, either.
My thoughts are this and my opinion: the GTR is awesome, but just a huge computer on wheels...feels artificial. The Z06 is supercar territory and a great track car. The Gt500 and the Camaro are the last muscle cars and i think the the shelby is way better looking....i want it LOL
until the price is officially announced, I will not accept $56,000 for a base. Ford would be shooting themselves in the foot. a 2010/2011 used (5,000-10,000 miles) is the same price range if you shop properly.
I would at least take a look at the ZL1 if the price starts at $56,000.
Ford won't shoot themselves in the foot, if you're set on this car, you'll buy it. Very few of us (me unfortunately) are not looking to "scrounge" together to get this car. Most buyers can easily swing it, or possibly have other cars.
Ford knows that, so IF they do sticker that high, the only people getting "hosed" are the ones who can't afford 55k+ msrp's.
As far as a bang for buck deal, if you option up a GT500 to mid upper 60's, vs 56 for a ZL1, sure the camaro is a better deal.
plus he forgot to mention you cant have the 1000 shaker and electronic package at the same time also he completely neglected to include the new track package which will probably bring the price of the performance package down

As usual, misinformation from the kid that pukes on the keyboard, gets called out and dissappears.
how do you know the packages of the 2013? How do you know what stereo and electronics package will be there? How do you know it won't come standard with both.
How do you know the track package will bring the price of the performance pack down?
Oh, thats right. You don't Shut up already.
As for this thread, when the car comes out, and we have pricing, and testing info, then we can debate, and benchrace.
omg chris ur a stupid person. Ford announced this crap already. They said there will be the same packages and a track package. Also if you go and try to get the 1000 stereo and the nav they cant be put together. Walk into any ford dealership and ask them that. Hell go on the website go to build a ford and see if they let you pick the 1000 mach stereo and the nav at the same time. U r like the dumbest persons I have ever met that just shits on everything. Ur a 2 year old that likes conflict. Get over it.

Instead of calling someone out, why dont you bring some facts with you to the table? Also it is not wise to compare information from the 2012 model to the 2013 model because things change!
I will say its interesting that the op would build a 2013 gt500 based on speculative pricing including specific options that do not help performance(ie, mach 1000 stereo that will add 50+ lbs, and the glass roof) to a z06 with no options. All to create similar pricing.
As far as my facts. This forum has an entire thread devoted to this information and its clearly on there. Also a simple google check will also show this announcement. It was the very first announcement ford made on the 2013 shelby. 2nd yes your right maybe the 1000 watt mach 1 stereo and nav package may be changed to allow them to be put together but I doubt that. It had something to do with the main focus is set in the center and that the nav has its own amp and the 1000 watt has its amps in the trunk so something with that does not work apparently. Other cars have this problem it has to do with the wiring.

1) youve proven on multiple forums you're the stupid child
2)you cant go in to a dealership and order a 2013, or ask them anything about it, cause they don't know.
3) you can't build a 2013 gt500 on the ford website
4) youve never met me
5) I shit on your posts so people don't believe your misinformation
6) if you can't take the heat, and don't know anything, lurk, read, and learn.
7) how's ur $80k BMW, your parents that are better than everyone else, your tail light tint on your mustang, and senior powderpuff football team?

Instead of spouting info you think you know why dont you go back and find the quotes from the actual press release? This is because we have shown time and time again that you have no clue how to read and comprehend information that is in written form!

Before this goes off the deepend as fact.. I will state this now.
All the pricing for the 2013 above mentioned is my speculation and assumption. An accumalative pricing of today's packages and upgrades, with the assumption of a base price shelby. I sincerely hope I'm wrong on it all, but it was just to get a fun comparision to the cars that are available.
I saw the comment about options for the shelby and not for the z06. I guess I can add the navigation and stuff to the z06, but as another posted, you can get these thing for about 8,500 under msrp currently.
This was just me playing devil's advocate to see where it stands, based on cars at this performance and price level.
Perfromance in both straight line and on a road course, plus you can add in factors for modification costs to hp.
I think it still shows the Gt500 is still the best bang for you buck in all of these pricing levels. However, there are some options, with different objectives in performance.
I love SVTperformance, and the people on here are great! Always informative and helpful, that is why I've have been on here for years. I'm currently on my 3rd SVT car, I'm sure I'll have another on in the next year or so.
