No boost???

I'm stumped...I thought my stock boost gauge was bad, so I went and bought a Auto Meter boost gauge. On idle, I show negative 20-22 pounds of boost. When I drive, it'll fluctuate between negative 15 to neg. 5. When I go WOT, I can only get 0 to 1 lb of boost....I got a +1 lb from the Boost Actuator Adjustment bypass mod. Motor idles and runs great...it has a brand new SC with 4lb pulley. I pulled the SC off to replace top spacer gasket and everything looked fine, but still ran the same with no boost. Boost Actuator seems to look fine and I have adjustment perfect. Three of us says belt looks fine I'm about 97% sure I DO NOT have a vacuum leak...what could it be?

Hum... How bout u do this IMO, put the old supercharger back up, check if it boosts. If it doesn't, ur probably plugging something incorrectly. or u might have a dead/faulty supercharger.., hey it happens, that's all i can think of right now really..

I bought it with a new SC already on it. SC seems to be screaming like it's doing something.

pop ur hood and have the truck running.

give the truck some gas with ur hand under the hood by pusing back on the cables.

ull hear the SC if its working, try checking to make sure the belts are on correctly, if its not, it wont spin as fast as it needs to, to create boost.

I replaced belt and nothing. Boost actuator looks to be working great, so I'm pulling the SC-IC and cleaning the IC tomorrow. All that's left.

I have a weird feeling that you have a bad vacuum source. Like one with a check valve facing the wrong direction.

start the truck and take a video of it under the hood and closely follow the lines with the camera, maybe we can spot something

I pulled the SC and IC today...IC was actually not all that bad, but I still cleaned it. While at it, I changed the plugs...half were Bosch Platinum and the drivers side looked to have original Motorcraft and they were in bad shape. Got it all back together and still gauge has no boost. Took out for test drive and hauled ass and sounded great as video shows. Even took it up to 135MPH (Not on video) and it ran great...could it be the source of where I have the vacuum hooked up? This makes no sense.

Problem fixed...well kind of...Brake booster and red/black lines were reversed. But I can only manage 4-5 lbs of boost. With a 4lb pulley and C&L elbow, I would expect more. Still searching....thanks to all who helped and especially Haybale.

This may sound stupid but check the vacuum line you have connected to the gauge and make sure its not kinked or bent. That was the issue I had with mine. The plastic tubing pinches really easy as I came to find out.

Since the truck is running strong, I would be tempted to think the issue is with the gauge not the s/c

***UPDATE***

It's raining here this morning, put the truck in the garage and redid the Booster Actuator bypass mod...went to Walmart to pick something up. I went WOT quickly and she came alive with 10+lbs of boost before I shut here down because of wheel spin in the rain. Bad news is I'm throwing a lean code on the Check Engine Light. The liars I bought this truck from said it was tuned at a local shop for the 4lb pulley. My question is, and money is tight...should I just buy a Diablo tuner and tune it with that or find a shop to tune it and what's reasonable?

First off, congrats on findig the problem out. I had a little feeling it was that sh*t, anywho, look for good tuners in ur area. Ask around a lot and go with whoever u think would be best. Depends on ur tuner, he might use Diablosport to tune, but their are others like SCT which a lot of ppl use. You can also do a Mail order tune, Amazon Tuning will take care of you for a good price and good results.
