Actually you got it backwards there bud, a second gear burnout gets the tires hotter ALOT quicker than a first gear burnout and its easier to hold it in the burnout once the tires are spinning than in first gear. Every first gear burn out i have done you can feel the tires trying to grab traction and bog where the second gear burout has always felt more effortless once you get the tires spinning.
