The K&N or any CAI kit for that matter is a negligible upgrade on the car as the stock intake is actually pretty decent. There are a few companys (Vararam) that are making some pretty stout intakes for the car now. The LTs require a tune to be worth anything.
Your boy in the GTO doesn't know the car, so obviously he's going to get embarrassed.

He sold the GTO a long time ago, I think because he lost 4 times to the lightning, once when the GTO had an intake/headers, then the GTO added a 100shot, my friend in the Lightning added Nitto DR's and a higher stall converter and beat him even worse.
