IDK what series it is on Speed channel all the time but they are racing FR500s against Corvettes, BMWs and Porsches and the FR seems to kick their asses big time. Always see the FR passing them in corners and such.
I am an IRS fan, have been since my first Vette and more so when I went from a Live axle Cobra to an IRS one. On a track though a properly tuned SRA can achieve the same grip levels as an IRS at a lighter weight.
The IRS shines on ruff surfaces when it can keep both wheels planted better. So on the street the IRS is the better choice with all the road variables but its a different story on the track.
Hell, the new GT out handles the Camaro and Challenger as well. Has a higher cornering load (.96 I believe) and was faster through the slalom.
just my .02
