In response to the thread on Modfords

there is a lot of misinformation and bashing going on with no way for us to respond to it..there are 2 sides to every story

it is being said that there is a cover up here by the SVTP staff to hide anything negative said about Amazon..

just to clarify.. there is no one on the staff here that is related to us in any way..they are doing their job to protect supporting vendors from people coming here to advance their own agendas and stir the pot..we appreciate the dedication for such a thankless task..you can be sure that someone is not going to like the decision they make about any given situation....

to the guys who are members here and complaining about SVTP over there...why do you come around this site break, the rules then hate on the members and staff ? you broke the rules..they are only doing their job of removing you...take responcibility for your own actions and stop blaming others

to all our customers who have been posting on Modfords ..we are waiting for those calls you said you were going to make to us..if we can figure out who you are.. we will call you

it is a daily occurance for any tuner to get calls from customers who are not happy with their present tuners.. we get them all the time and so do all the other tuners.. no matter how hard we try we are not going to make every customer happy.. but consider the fact that Rick has been tuning since 1996 and has thousands of happy customers.. and yes.. he has some who arent.. but he was always willing to try to rectify any problems that resulted..

so discuss away

yeah i was reading that thread and alot of negativity sure was coming out of the woodwork.

but the way i read it, it the basis of it sounded more like some kind personal problem between that site admins and you guys from way back when

but hey you can't please all the people all the time - thats for sure!

nail on the head... wayyy back...but that is not the only motivation for the thread...
most of the things being said I have heard said about any shop in this country at one point or another....nothing goes south faster than a who is the best tuner or shop thread...

heres how i see it... ive been around this game a long time and i had the pleasure of working for rick and linn for the years they had the shop in edgewood maryland... i was pretty much in the shop everyday after work and all day on weekends. i heard rumors of things that people would tell me happen that didnt know who i was. none of it was true... i heard cars that "rick blew up on the dyno" that were never even in the shop...that being said you cant please everyone and believe only what you see with your own eyes...

Very professional and well said!
When the customer does not call or contact the Vendor directly then there is not anything you can do for them and when they go on the internet forums (as they did over there) it is not fair to the ones being bashed and can not defend themselves, too many of the people who go on the internet hide behind it.
We have had personal experience at our shop with Eric and Elisa and his "tuning abilities".
I will send Linn and Rick a copy of that before I post it in there forum.
We have always recommended Amazon for tuning, we may have had our differences at one time, however we never spoke negative about Rick's tuning abilities, we have seen several of our blowers on their web page with Ricks tunes that showed good Dyno results and track times to back those up.

Very well said.

I personally know several customers that are running our parts that AMAZON has tuned and I have never heard anything but good things.

I cant tell you how many times that I see forum members pushing their own agenda to try and get in good favor with a shop or dealer. If those shops and dealers condone that type of behavior then I say ****'em. I have had people try and "help" before to get in our good favor, sadly to the detriment of another business owner whom I had the utmost respect for and a decent understanding. For the life of me I will never understand why people trample all over everyone thinking it will get them somewhere in life, whether it be a discount on a part from us or in Amazons case a free or discounted tune.

If you want to act like that then you should be running for office, there is a whole big ass building filled with people just like you! You might have to destroy a few peoples reputations to get ahead, but you dont have any problem doing that in the first place. You should fit in just fine!

So in closing stop being ass holes and act your damn age, if you cant do that then go away!

And as Bob so elegantly put it, "In the end the truth will prevail"!

Best of Luck to you,

S

In the end, the vendors that stick with thier customers and provide service after the sale will prevail IMO. These vendors will have repeat customers as well as referalls from satisfied customers. I have dealt with both Bob and Rick and they were more than happy to take my calls and help me with problems that had nothing to do with the service they supplied. To those that had problems with products and/or services and went elsewhere without contacting the original supplier, I ask why? If you left unhappy, why not put it on them to make it right, or at least give them the chance? These folks have literally serviced THOUSANDS of these same vehicles and I doubt there is very little they have not seen. If you had your car "retuned" or your supercharger "re-ported" IMO you just pissed away a lot of money for nothin'. To Rick and Bob, Thank You for the excellent services you have provided me and thousands of other happy customers.

I just have to post up. I know Smacked_in_ATL personally and I speak to him almost daily. I use to be in all this Mustang game, so I have been around the block a little bit. From what I remember Aaron contacted Amazon multiple times through email, sent datalogs and even made another 2.5 hour drive back to Amazon and have the tune checked. Rick was not able to fix the tune. I'm pretty sure Aaron told me something to the effect of "I told Rick it was better just to get out of there because I didn't want him tuning the car anymore."

Back to the original point I made in my first post in this thread. Who has issues tuning an upper only/unported Cobra. Dyno numbers and track performance are one thing. I believe Aaron's car made great numbers and performed well at the track, but driveability sucked and thats a problem. If they can't get something right on two visits, why would someone continue to go back?

Oh and another thing I have a problem with is when a car has a problem and the tuner says, maybe its this, or maybe its that. IMO tuners don't have to be master mechanics, but they should be able to tell what just about any problem is causing issues. Aaron never got any answer from Rick. "Maybe its the PPRV, or dirty fuel pump" No, its your tune!!

well i just came from ricks and my car runs great. it makes great power and drives like stock. If that guy told rick to stop tuning on it when rick wasnt done....thats dumb. Rick is a perfectionist and wont make a full pull on the car till everything is right. if the car goes lean or fat he shuts it down. Rick takes his time and does it right....i think he spent right around 4-5 Hrs. tuning my car. My car had gremlins and he had to work them out but he didnt quit until the car was balls on. also if your car isnt 100% in running order mechanically, its going to be hard to get a good tune, but thats on you not the tuner.

so you only know HIS side of the story then correct? ya.. that's what I thought...

why wont Aaron use MPH? he came here unhappy about that..he doesnt seem to want to talk about that but he sure sees the need to be vocal about his expereince with us..

Aaron got into trouble here not because of his tuning issues with us but because his post was a billboard for BS Tuning who is not a supporting vendor.. and he was told that..seems pretty cut and dried to me..

Im sure he does not care that he is banned here since he now has a new home that he loves so much more.. so why even come here to defend him?
we know he is not happy with us and so does the whole world..at this point any additional drama is wasted effort

What is that supposed to mean? If you have something to say, please spit it out.

The original thread was a valid post. You lost the opportunity to go above and beyond to make a customer happy. There was no reason for it to be deleted. Now your stuck playing the internet fix my rep game.

Aaron didn't pay MPH $1200. He paid Amazon. I think that's why he is talking about Amazon. His Cobra has never been to MPH. I talk cars with him daily so I know these types of things. I am defending him because he is banned and the people need to know what the he'll is really good.

Your right the original post was vailid. The reason it was deleted was because the staff didn't want to promote that tuner on this site. We thought from what the customer told me that the problem was fixed. I would have continued to work with him till he was happy.

Rick

I am overjoyed to know that I am not banned on Modfords..I was told that I was after I tried to log in one day several months ago..since I never go there anyway I have never tried to log in..

I found out about the thread from other vendors and customers who PMed and emailed it to me

and just to keep the record straight.. we were never asked to leave..it was our decision to leave again for the 3rd time after we found out that Eric was emailing and PMing our customers.. I really could not see the point of paying to be on a site where the owner was a competing vendor and have total access to the customer base..
I find it equally replusive that I had to ask the staff to do their job.. there is just way too much vendors bashing by admins ,mods and site owners.. so if you think that made me undesirable as a vendor.. shame on you..you need to have more respect for the vendors who pay for your existence.. many of them have left the site helped you start it and build it only to have you turn on them..
