Smoked Taillights

Hey Nick I noticed you now have smoked oem style 99-04 tails on your site. When I looked 2 people (customers) had images up but they wern't the greatest pictures. I already have your smoked with clear corner headlights and am looking to smoke or tint the tails and rear sidemarker lights in the future. I'm torn between having the stockers tinted, buying a oem set and having those tinted and buying the pre-tinted (smoked w/e) ones from American Muscle. One advantage to buying another set of oems or the ones pre-smoked would be I could keep mine as a spare which I like in case the tinted ones get me ticketed or end up malfunctioning somehow.

One thing that I am concerned about is I read that its recommended to RTV seal the tails, have you had as much trouble with condensation in the taillights as people have had with the headlights? I know a few people that didn't seal theirs and they got water in em, I sealed mine and baked em and the pass side still fogs a lil now and then (its manageable and doesn't bother me).

I am looking to come close to matching the smoked 99-04 headlights on your site in terms of darkness, are these close? I couldn't tell from pictures so thats why I ask.

Sorry for the long read but I am considering a few options with my taillights and I just saw that AM has them now (I don't care for the led or 'altezza' styles) and I have been impressed with AM products in the past and just wanted to know if these stack up to the headlights.

I purchased these lights from AM about three weeks ago. They are dark enough to look good without the hassle from the Police. They do look good. I tried the tint, and screwed it up and trashed the kit. I have not had any condensation problems from them. Overall I am very happy with the lights.

Btw, they are not as dark as the dark tint headlights that they sell, which I also have. The blue car that they show a pic of the tails, is how dark they look in person. Honestly I think you would like them. No hassle with trying to tint your tails, and you can always just put the stockers in.

If they aren't quite as dark it's not a huge deal, I was just curious on how they compared really. I agree with you on buying the ones from AM so I wouldn't go through a hassle if the tint messes up like I would if I tinted my stickers. Thanks for the 'real world' reply!

Um...I guess I don't even have to answer this LOL. As far as the sealing note, we put that on all of our headlights/tail-lights. It isn't particular to these units or anything. It is something you can do even on your stock housings as condensation can happen on any headlight or tail-light.
