Going cogged, Pro's and con's

I have a 99 4 valve (Built Boss 330 longblock) with an F1R. The current set up is an 8 rib (no room for 12 rib), and I am breaking belts.

I am thinking of converting to a cogged set up. Who has done it ? Results ? Problems ? Pics ?

Help me out here I am going broke in belts !!! JK

Does your crank have dual key ways? No belt slip puts alot of stress on the crank key on decel.

Go with a dedicated drive. House of Boost makes one. If you are still using your 99 timing cover it should work with out a problem. This way you can run all your accessories on the factory 6 rib and then run the blower on an 8. The bracket is VERY stout. EA used the same bracket on his car for the KOTS in 2006 I believe.

Cogs are not very street friendly. So this will turn into a track only car with limited street use.

House of Boost Store: We Make Fast Stuff FASTER - 4v Ford Mustang Dedicated Bracket System

When I rebuild I will be going with their dedicated drive. Just look at that thing, probably ZERO flex!

there is alot of stress on the crank i wish i double keyed my crank, its VERY VERY LOUD, and im not exaggerating. Sounds like your taxing down the runway at your local airport while driving the car.

If you are breaking belts, you have alignment problems, bad pulley bearings, or bracket flex.
