WOW! I'm really surprised. I like the Challenger but I'd never own one (even if I didn't work for my present employeer). I think they look cool but as a pony car they are really outclassed by the competition from a performance standpoint. Still I think they have their place. Challenger monthly sales have dropped off tremendously since they first came out and I believe they are selling somewhere in the neighborhood of 400-600 per month.
Contact me offline and we can discuss a few things I know about that car as I've spent quite a bit of time around a few and there are some things you should pay attention to.
Are you planning on driving this car or storing it away? I don't care either way and it doesn't matter but I am curious.
Quick poll - I see Challengers almost every day here in Detroit. How often do the rest of you see them?
I have a spare hood stripe at my desk if you want it.....
I will be using it for the occassional car show, my family of four can ride in it, I love it!! As for seeing them, they are not plentiful in this area (central Fla., in fact it surprises me that I see many more Camaro's and the Challenger has been out for a year+ longer?!?!? And then it is not common to see the more expensive SRT-8. The R/T and 6cyl. cars are more common in my area, when I see one, maybe twice a week. One thing I can say, the auto. trans. (which were all that was available in 2008) are not what buyers want in these cars, especially the higher end models.
I'll have to look to see exactly which ones they are but they are the larger stripes so I'm guessing they are the hood stripes. I've had them for a few years now.

He's been trying to make them fit on a 95R hood but the curvature wouldn't work.
In my area I am already seeing more camaros than challengers. I have no clue what models they are since I don't pay much attention.

A little outrageous on the price I think, nothings "R" original on that car anymore except the VIN, hood and rims. Plus an accident and new paint? Then again, it is a stealership trying to sell the car..........

WARNING ABOUT 2000 Cobra R drivetrain for sale in Detroit Area
Just wanted to give you guys a heads up about some 2000 Cobra R parts I went at looked at yesterday. Seller has a complete 2000 Cobra R front K-member for sale on ebay and ended up pulling it (I think he felt he could sell it outside of EBay).
Long story short is that I looked at both the front K-member (complete with brakes, struts, springs and steering gear) and the full rear IRS subframe. Both parts supposedly have 5,000 miles on them and have been stored the last 9 years in a high humidity steel container. They have HEAVY surface rust on everything and nothing was sealed meaning the insides should be suspect so you would probably need to rebuild everything(my personal opinion, not a fact).
He also has a complete 2000 R engine minus throttle body for sale for $8k but it was at another location. I didn't look at that but if you're interested in it PM me and I'll send you his phone number.
Personally I wouldn't recommend anyone on this board waste their money on the front or rear pieces but I can't really comment on the condition of the engine as I didn't see it. I have no connection with the owner of the parts other than I looked at them and was shocked and dissapointed.

The guy I bought my R from gave me the jacket with the car. He worked at the Dearborn assembly plant at the time but I'm not sure if he still works at Ford.

Geez--they post that jacket on ebay and show the small front logo. If they would have put a back picture up as well I bet they would have had another +$100.

That was my exact thought when I saw Steve's good pictures.... that jacket on ebay would have doubled in price in a hurry. I know I sure would have been a lot more interested. An ebay bidder asked for better pics and all they did was post another crappy pic that was hard to make out.
