Remember we were talking about IMSA F-bodies....look at this dudes collection. He has been posting on the Fox forum and was looking at the 93R that was recently for sale.
Is Aaron gonna put together another 93R? If so, at least on this one it won't matter as much if he does not tell the whole truth about its driveline.... as most people on this race R would not care anyhow.
I guess he apparently bought it according to the other board
Ken Miles won the 1966 Rolex 24 at Daytona and finished 2nd in the 24 Hours of Lemans in a GT40.
Some say Miles actually won LeMans that year. He was leading when Ford had him slow down to bunch the GT40's together to cross the finish line for the photographs.
The victory was awarded to Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon because they started further back on the grid and actually traveled 25' more in distance.
Miles won the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1966 (and should have won LeMans). He helped design, build and race the Shelby Cobra, the Shelby GT350, and the GT40. I'd say that is a good resume.
Bob Johnson also drove the GT350 along with Jerry Titus and Mark Donohue. The GT350 dominated the B-production class that was originally owned by the Corvette. The GT350R won five of the Sports Car Club of America's (SCCA) six divisions in 1965. Titus won the B-Production national championship. GT350s won the B-Production title again in 1966 and 1967. They also won the 1966 manufacturers’ championship in the inaugural SCCA Trans-Am series in a SCCA AS car.
These were certainly professional racers and Ford paid their salaries. It was money well spent since the 1965/1966 Mustang was a huge success. They sold 1,160,000 cars although Ford had just planned to move 100,000 through the showrooms.
The 1965/1966 Mustang continues to be the American car with the highest number of entries in any vintage race in America. Even after 45 years, the competition continues to bitch and gripe about the car's competitiveness.

1993R - Can you point me to exactly where you were talking about the IMSA F-Bodies? Just Curious. Here's a pic of my two IMSA cars. A raced 93R would sure look neat next to 'em. I'd really like to find one!
This is the very first 1LE GM built in 1991. Instead of being crushed by GM it was converted to race in the IMSA Supercar series. It's loaded with tons of prototype SLP parts and was raced by Rick-A-Shay racing.
Here's a 1LE that was special ordered and built specifically for the IMSA GS class. It was in 2 races before IMSA outlawed the 1LE.

^^^^ NICE COLLECTION!!!!
I can't speak for the rest of the Cobra R IMSA owners, but I'm sure they'd agree that it would be pretty cool to get ALL of the old IMSA 95R's and other brand retired (and actice) race cars together at a track event some time in the future

t towner I wish I could remember. It maybe in prior pages of this thread. It was a discussion on what happened to them ,locating and values. Good luck in finding a raced 93R. There are only about 5-6 cars that were raced and all are currently in private mustang friendly collectors garages.

Has anyone ever suggested that you have a problem with collecting F-body cars? What is a FireAm? You don't even own a new Camaro?
Do you race or track them?
The second picture was taken at Road Atlanta in the middle of winter.

I believe I started a thread earlier this year re the IMSA F-bodies. Search the Cobra R titles and it should come up for you.
