It was how I thought it was going to be. I was a little nervous but not too bad. I don't know if they have to be like this but, she was mean. Well after I was done she was going over the results and was like.. "well..we have a problem here and here". She never told me which questions she had problems with. Now when you guys took the polygraph did they say something similar to you and you were still hired?

What's this all about? Is it for employment purposes? I would be interested in knowing what questions are being asked. It would seem that any polygraph for employment hiring may be highly prejuducial since the answers to questions could flag stuff you may have done as a child or tennager that you normally wouldn't do now as an adult.
I don't know if I can get in trouble for telling some of the questions I was asked so mods please delete if necessary.
Polygraph is one of the steps in the hiring process to be a Police Officer. It was a total of 20 questions and I did the polygraph twice. Took 6 min each time. She asked about drug usage, alcohol usage, have I ever stole anything?, is my name Justin?, do I live in Baltimore Maryland. Mainly general questions but I think they have set questions for everyone.

did you get asked how many times you used drugs or how long ago?

Before the poly I had to fill out a packet which had about 50 questions. One question was about drugs, which ones I have done?, how many times?, and the month and the year of when I did them. Then during the polygragh I believe the exact question was " did you tell me the truth about your drug usage?"

That is a really weak Poly. I have never had one last under two hours.
Maryland is just wacky when it comes to the Poly. The one for my Department was about an hour.... took the first one... then he ask me "questions of concern" I explained.... and we were done. Baltimore City (Which I think is where Justin is at) has limited their scope of the poly to make it have less of an impact on their hiring process. I, myself am not a fan of the poly at all.... I think it is the most subjective piece of crap in the Law Enforcement tool belt. If you get a bad polygrapgher..... you may fail just by the way you answer the questions. I have walked out of a Poly because the polygrapher a) had a really bad attitude and b) was treating me like a criminal.
State police average is about 1.5 hours
MD Transportation Authority is about 40 minutes

No I am applying for Baltimore County. I had to be there at 8, so I was there till 8 to about 11:30. Then I had to go to thier place called Concentra to get a physical and I didnt get home till 3:30. This lady did have a very bad attitude and I felt like walking out because the way she was talking to me made me think that I wasnt going pass the poly. They may have changed the polygraph test recently because they are pushing to get myself and others into this december class. I took the very first test in october and I belive I've gone through this process pretty quick. All I have left is psyc. and wait for them to hire me or not. I have a friend going into Baltimore City and they hired him within a month. Baltimore City and County is hurting for Police Officers so I'm told.
The city is always hurting for people. The County usually has a wait... but from what I have been told is that they are catching up .... so to speak
Just remember when doing this.... sometimes the first choice is not where you end up! I started at BPD but hated it there and went quickly from there as fast as possible.
My first poly was over 6 hours ... a full lifestyle poly .. second - fifth were any where from 3 or 4 hours. They suck big blue donkey balls ....
A lot of operators will make comments and even accuse you of lying to gauge your reaction more than any real problem with the test.
I tend to agree that the poly in this case was way short and probably not as thorough as it probably should have been but then I am not familiar with the requirements of LEO jobs so my opinion on that matter may be crap ....
