FWIR, lying to a Judge can land you in jail. Perjury, possible obstruction, Contempt of the Court, etc. The easiest answer is, DON'T LIE TO THE JUDGE!!!! Adam, if I'm wrong, please correct me. Thanks!
im in a case right now and the defendant said something that i know is a lie but more importantly i can PROVE he willingly told a lie and that it wasnt a slip of the tongue

You are correct and it can land a person in jail. The charge would likely be perjury. But there are host of other remedies a judge has available to him. Proving perjury in a civil case is tough. Most of the time a party thinks the other side committed perjury when in fact they gave a slanted opinion or revisionist view of the facts.

indeed.
i paid a shop to rebuild a 450hp n/a 306 race motor, first, they wouldnt return it. so its a claim and delivery case. the judge ordered him to hand it over but the case is still open for other reasons. anyways he tried to charge me storage on the motor, but the judge said no dice being i paid a deposit and called, sent certified mail etc. the defendant claimed numerous times that he finished the work.
well the first thing i did when i got the motor was go directly to another builder. as soon as i moved the long block....coolant comes out. without me saying anything the builder was like this motor hasnt been rebuilt and pointed out a bunch of things to me.NOBODY rebuilds a motor then puts coolant in. oil..yes coolant no. carbon on the head, pistons etc. but i document everything, and he claimed to have changed the block, cause the old one had a pinhole in a cyl and ran, but ran hot. the numbers from the old block and this so called new one matches, among other tell tale features
like i said there were numerous times that he said he did the work or the work was done etc. this wasnt a "slip up"
My particular case nothing, the ex lied through her teeth through her whole testimony. But like said hard to prove unless you drag a witness to court to refute it, otherwise whoever is more convincing.
However seems like your case you have some real facts. Block # etc. important to document all that w pics, etc. 2nd builder cause you could take him to small claims at least as a witness. Here it is 4k max if you paid for a rebuild. Good luck. Myself, I'd want my property and money back and tell him to go you know. The only way to have coolant and oil, carbon is if they suppose to engine dyno test it.

yeah i started documenting like mad 4 yrs ago...all my military files, programs by language, va papers, taxes, car paperwork, maint, college work etc...i already got pics of coolant coming out time stamped and file and uploaded online for mobile use on my iphone..
did some homework on the defendant. this is his 3rd time doing the same thing and seems to know just when to stop dollar wise. does that change things?
