This is a question that a friend was asking me and I was going to see if anyone could lend and opinion or a suggestion that can help in his case, he lives in North Carolina.
I was wondering if you'd be able to help me out with a problem I have going on, this weekend I saw a cop in front of me so I did the same speed as him because I didn't know he was responding to a call since he didn't have his lights on. He was doing 85 in a 55 and he radioed one of his friends going the other way to turn around and pull me over and now I have to go to court about it next month. Do you know of anything I could do to help it out?

Plead guilty and ask for the court's lenience.
...and don't do criminal speeding around cops, no matter what side of your car they're at. (20 MPH over the speed limit in AZ.)

i followed a cop going 20 over before.. he was eating a big mac... looking at his laptop.. and weaving through traffic.. it was pretty wild...
you could tell he was a decent driver.
wow your friend is pretty stupid,,,, that may one of the dumbest things i read on here in a long time. Tell him tio plead temporary lapse of brains and hopefully the judge will go a little easier on him, when he is done laughing at him.
yeah all i can say is good luck because if your that unintelligent to speed behind a officer just because he is speeding then expect no remorse from the court.

Get a really good traffic attorney. Why did you think it was a good idea to exceed the posted speed limit by 30 mph with a cop right in front of you?
Regardless of whether you think they are going to call you have no defense for exceeding the speed limit

i did this before, I was following a police going 90mph on the free way, i stayed in his blind spot on the right, once he looked over he slammed on his breaks, i was on the off ramp... Oh man it was priceless watching the head of that cop float higher and higher away and i had a huge grin on my face
