Expired plate ticket?

I posted earlier about my son totaling his car this past weekend, well come to find out his plates were expired and a ticket was issued. My question is that in the past I have received the same ticket, renewed the plates and got the ticket dropped. Could I do this in this situation even though the car is totaled, it'd save me $100 or am I just SOL in paying the $173 fine?

Usually there is a grace period after the ticket was issued, for us it is ten days, for that option. I didnt see your other thread so I do not know when you received the ticket. But, if it falls within that window, then you could renew the registration and just pay the administration and court fees.

If the car is totaled take the wreck report, info from insurance[if they bought it from you] etc. If you plan on keeping the plates and put on another car, obviously get them renewed and take info with you...but, take the money just in case
