i got my 1st speeding ticket this year, payed for it and did traffic school. i got my 2nd one today and its within 18 months so what can i do? i heard i can still request traffic school but i have to do 12 hours this time and that my insurance MIGHT go up if they notice i went to traffic school twice. my insurance did not go up the 1st time, was it because i didnt get a point on my licence? does insurance go up only if you have points on your license?
also, anyone have a list of the ticket prices? i cant find one for CA. 1st ticket was 80+ in 65 area, 2nd is 84 in 65 as well. thanks guys
Here is what you can do: STOP SPEEDING! Seriously, I know that sounds like a jackass response and im sure you are kinda upset reading that by now. But if you are upset, then it means its true and pertains to you.
I would think you would have learned to slow down after the first ticket. I mean this isnt 5mph or anything, its not a speed you are going to not notice. I feel you deserve everything that happens to you now. Good luck.

isn't there a number on the back of the ticket to call for price and fine info? perhaps you might start there.
also 84 in a 65 is likely going to be higher than your first ticket.
what can you do? go to court, man up, plead guilty and take your lumps.

i know that but i want to know if taking traffic school will clear my points on my license and keep insurance from going up even if its my 2nd withing 18 months of each other.
I believe certain counties will give you a 2nd offence traffic school, but not all of them. If you go to traffic school if it's allowed you shouldn't get a point on your record and your insurance wont go up.
try hireing a lawyer to fight the ticket. Down here in south Florida there's this place called the ticket clinic. You pay $80.00 and they send a lawyer to fight the ticket. Most of the time it gets dropped and all you have to do is pay the court fees and you get no points on your license and it doesn't show up on record. I used to work for Allstate Insurance Company and can tell you, even if you take drving school, your rates will still eventually go up when they review your policy. Driving school stops the points for being applied to your license, but it doesn't remove the incident from your record. So the insurance companies can still pull it up when they run your driving record report.
I don't know if you'd qualify due to your speed on the second ticket.
When I got my speeding ticket I was well over what I should've been driving and the CHP officer reduced it to 80 in a 65. He said 80 so I could attend traffic school being my first offense. From what I gathered from the info he gave me I'd think anything over that may not allow you to attend. Of course going to court may yield you different results as well.

Ack
yea i thought about taking it to court but just to ask the judge if he can allow me traffic school but i was well above the speed limit so it will probably go worse if i try that.
what happens if insurance is under another persons name? i think my car is insured under my dad. when i bought the car he put it under his name because i was 17 so he put me as driving the f-150. now the car is in my name again but insurance gets the ticket info from points on my license and the insurance company doesnt have my license info
