i am right there with you...

obviously the fore piece is superior in many ways... billet, o-ring, ports. but the mm problem and the vent problem have me shying away. the money isn't really an issue - i spoil my baby

as long as the differential is secured very well with front/rear solid or delrin bushings, the potential for cracking the cover is pretty much gone, so the lpw peice or even the stock cover would be fine.

MM & Fore have teamed up to use both products on the IRS (MMFF article to hit in Jan-Feb).
~ Let us know when the order is placed if you plan on running the MM as well.

Feel free to place your order through your favorite Fore Precision dealer today to get on the next production run.

excellent news! but will it be an either/or type situation?

in other words will the new mm -accepting cover also accept a stock-type bushing

WHAT A CROCK OF SHIT! still haven't heard from fore about their bullshit "catch can" fix, its been like 2-3 months now. and now i see they are teaming up with MM to make their mount work?! WHY couldn't this have been taken care of for the original covers that were supposed to "FIT" everything. they knew MM made solid mounts and neglected to accommodate them fitting because of rigidity assumptions. I'm so fed up with these bullshit Aftermarket companies that praise themselves on fit and function only to find its all BS come time for the part to perform. Oh and the fact that the cover was an assload of cash and i still needed to source out fittings/plugs, vent tube, and my own catch can.

I apologize for the delay, but we STILL don't have the expansion tanks ourselves...we keep getting told 2-3 more weeks from the company that is making them. We take responsibility for the delay, but I can't make another company move faster. We're looking for another company to make the expansion tanks in the future.

Regarding the MM solid rear mount...we certainly knew it was on the market, but I would not support it because it requires removal of material in a critical area. I still will not support it unless MM makes some changes to their bracket and this has not been worked out yet. Full Tilt Boogie Racing has a solid rear mount that will work with our cover.

As for the fittings, quite a few are using a cooler, so there is no point in providing plugs if they're not being used. This is the same reason we don't include fittings with our fuel rails. In the future, you'll be able to purchase plugs with the cover, but it will be for an additional cost. As for the cost of the IRS cover, the introductory pricing is over...it is now $695. (FWIW, if we included plugs, we'd have to raise the price for everybody)

I apologize if you're unhappy, but at least send back the cover and we'll gladly refund your money at the price you paid. I'm at work today, so please don't hesitate to call if you want to talk about it.

Justin

Instead of adding a catch can to the cover, why not just put a nipple and vent it like the stock cover?

Instead of deleting your worthless post, I decided to reply.

If you choose to blast a vendor because you're not savy enough to figure out where to buy something as simple as a catch can, maybe you shouldn't be modding your car?!!

Fittings and plugs are the most basic of car modding purchases. If you have to complain about that on an internet forum I feel sorry for you!

There is a nipple and a vent. However, our inside geometry is different than the OEM cover, so there is a higher tendency to discharge fluid in some cars.

I haven't been able to duplicate the problem in my car, but it is still fair to say that our cover exacerbate the discharge tendencies based on feedback from other guys running it.

Some cars discharge fluid with the OEM cover, so the OEM vent design is not 100% effective. The proper solution was to include an expansion tank. (not a catch can)

These things take time to get right and there are many variables. This part will be like all the other Fore Precision parts when it's all said and done. It will be right on the money. Just keep working at it Justin

Let's not forget that it was not too long ago that the "community" was beating Justin over the head wanting this part out. I can only imagine the phone calls and emails he received. Well.....you can have it right or right now, but typically you can't have both and surely can't view all angles when under the gun. My .02 cents.
