Exactly. There is certainly a financial aspect to this. And since the 2.2 KB hasn't been manufactured for 2 years now, we need to be talking about a used twin screw which is not always the best risk.
I've got a KB 2.2, and honestly i think I'd go with a stage 3 ported blower with nitrous.... but that's just me. The 2.2's sound neat, but they are low on torque, and you really are limited with power and boost due to IATs. Personally I would have gone with a 2.6, 2.8 or whipple 2.3 if I had to do it all over again.

+1 for nitrous. On a budget the nitrous is really fast. 125 wet shot will walk 600cc bikes easy. I raced 500 hp imports with a 1100 lb weight advantage and still beat them. If you have loot to spend do the KB and spin it up to 23 lbs or so. That is free power that most guys with the KB don't take.
Imo nitrous can do ok cheaper, like was said though gotta jack w bottles and like anything it can get complicated. I've got a fjo progressive mini ramping from 3k w pretty large jets, wet fogger on a stock engine eaton w a 2.9. I've beaten bikes, hung even w aem tuned evo at 26 28# gt42r, beat a 10.4 camaro w spray, all on 93 oct this yr. Like was said kb is good too. I figured could use the kit w a kb or whipple later. I'd rate it around a 17# 19# twin screw street wise. You can hide the n2o better if that's your deal. Stock injectors and maf also. So its cheaper, not really better. One other thing w n2o on either you can have 2 instant power levels w a wet shot. I've used that option many times.

^^^ What afr and timing were you running to spray on 93 octane? Also what was the biggest shot? You're a maniac!
The numbers in my sig are on a 75 shot with 93 octane. With the proper timing removed you'll be fine on pump gas. I like to run a couple gallons of 100 octane in the tank just to be safe when I spray, but I'm tuned for 93 octane.

My car makes 620rwhp & 600rwtq with a 2.2L blower. I don't see where
they are low on torque. Maybe it's your tune or mod combination.
They are limited by blower rpm, not really by IAT's or boost.
Personally, I feel that a ported Eaton is a waste of $$$. I've done the
ported eaton / nitrous thing too. Obviously there are a few guys that
have their Eaton cars running really hard...but that's just it...there are a few guys.

what mods do you have? just out of curiosity; i'd love to be at that torque level.
I have the KB running 18lbs, stock headers, o/r x pipe and catback, MAFia, Stock intake piping with K&N FIPK, 4lb metco lower, and SCT chip. Tuning was done in 95* temps in July with a shit ton of humidity.
also, are you spraying? what kind of numbers with spray?

i agree go with the kb. it doesnt just sound better its way more efficient too. even if the power levels are similar the kb will be easier on your car and the power board will feel better.
IMO, it all depends on how much $ you want to spend and where you want to be at the end of the day. If you want a solid combo that will last for a long time I would stay with the Eaton and work on weight reduction and the suspension. There is no point of moving to a TS unless you want to run 20+ PSI. Given that, you are now working toward a new fuel system, increased engine failures, etc. I am still running a factory clutch and run better #'s than 70% of the TS guys out there, w/o juice.

Im doing ported + spray since i dont have the money for the KB, mods are:
Stage IV port 2.93 upper and 6lb lower
175 wet shot
Another car here in miami on the same shot made 690whp and 750wtq and ran 10.51 on drag radials with 1.75 60 foot.
This setup is a real bang for the buck. I will get the car tuned on monday and will post the numbers.
