SNIPERDOG, no regret here so far, the drivebility of the car is as good has stock. The attraction the cobra gets with those cam (comp cams) is just unreal!!! I am still on soft tune, will have it tune to is full potential this week end and lower the idle a bit. Here is a video i made, but its much better in person.

I'm about to throw in stage 2 COMP cams in my 03 heads [if that counts for anything]

I've heard stage 2 is perfectly fine in driveability..just the ocassional stall at traffic lights with the a/c on..

Wish I had stage 3 cams..but i had such a killer deal on the stage 2, and its my DD that it doesn't bother me that much, lol

Good luck on your decision and I'll post up vids/reviews once I get mine going!

I have stage 3 comp cams and i used to drive it every day and never stalled due to the cams. My idle sits around 900-1000 and never drops down like its going to die or anything. Just a nice lopy sound. no issues in traffic or driving around town. It is just loud!(which i love lol ) and I havent had any issues with the car other than exhaust leaks over time. and maybe fitment issuses in the rear due to the t/a& p/h for the sra and 315's lol. Just get a good tune, that'll help.
If you know anyone who works at kragens have them order them with their discount as my buddy did for me! saved me like 400-500 at the time. They were going for 1,299 or 1,399 and i only paid in the 9xx's with the discount. Ill try to get some video this weekend when i cruise.

imo if you dont go big enough with cams.... it just makes your exhaust sound like rumbling thunder. i like the the sound of bigger cams.

maybe its just the sound difference from the video camera's i dunno.. all i do know is i wish my car sounded like this.

There is a guy that has or at least claims he has. Not sure how hard it is. Not sure if you can degree them correctly with it in the car.

I've got Crower Stg 2 blower cams in my 03, and would never turn back. They perform GREAT....have no driveability issues. With a good set of custom ground or even off the shelf grinds, expect to pick up a ton of power. I'm able to make 640rwhp on 14#'s of boost simply because of great airflow(KB 2.2).

If you'd like a sound clip or anything PM me.

What else did you have done to your car? When I ran a 2.2L my numbers where not much higher with my Crower Stage IIIs (correctly degreed) and I was running more boost. This is also with added cubes, added compression and long tubes and alot of timing. Also my numbers where claimed to be inflated by 99% on this board.

Not saying its not possible just saying the numbers seem a bit off.

Yo

My big concern with running diff cams is will it change intake temps do to the duration change in the cams. Seems like it could be possible with the air speed being tampered with do to the duration. When my engine tires out I'll go with an Al Pappito combo with his custom cams.

DREAMCOMETRUE what is your idle set at? Are they OTS Stage III from Comp? Sounds more like a Comp Cam Stage II than a III to me.

I'm having a laundry list of mods done to my car right now, one of which is a custom grind blower cam to go along with the 2.6H I'm putting on. I'll post up stats, clips, and thoughts about it once my build is done.

I went custom Comp Cams. 238/242, .475 lift, 116 cl. Already have my motor out. Tools and gaskets are on the way. Should have them installed by next weekend.

off topic but How about fox lake racing heads? They are quite pricey but i heard they flow really well?

To op. i have stage three comp cams and i love them.
Heres my car but its not an idle video i was racing.
And i dont have a whipple . At the time i had a 2.8h kb but now it is a 2.8h behemoth.

Comp stage II's. I dont have any problems with it not starting when its cold, it does take a little longer start start but thats hot or cold. Had some driveability issues but I think it was in the tune. It's been on a break in tune and its getting the full tune next week.
