I just emailed a local central FL shop for an est on cams, he said he will give several options .,., cams, springs,,,.,., and also cams, springs, valve job etc.,., will let you know when he gets back to me

That's a rip off. What kind of gaskets is he using? They must be made of diamonds. I got my engine rebuilt, block was bored, new crank, new cp pistons, heads ported, cams, and I picked up an additional 75 HP and only spent a little more than what he's charging you

on the flip side, the shop this guy used to work for is Lamotta's performance, I called them too, and the guy there recomended not to mess with cams for a DD, so I am on hold on the project anyway. But damn.,., 5G's

Is that Jay at Real Street?? Damn that is a lot, and he has to ship the heads to Chris at Champion racing heads in Palm Coast for machining.
Why not contact Chris directly and wait untill you need to pull the motor, in the mean time you can compile all the parts cams, springs, ect... I would also get some ARP head and main studs, pistions and performance bearings and ARP rod bolts, rings and gaskets and have the block machined as well, then you could have one killer combo!!!

that's the thing.,., I don't want/need head work, or want to pull the motor not trying to make a race car.,.
hey call and talk to kris starnes at champion racing in palm coast!! he is one of the best head porters around but he does stuff on the side to make extra money and he does stuff for Al P. and Jay from Real Street Performance!! I know you said you didnt want the port work but im sure kris would do the cams for you!! CHAMPION Racing Heads
