Need more information on the "tick".

Fuel injectors can make a tick noise. Spark could be loose.

I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that it's the head tick without some more diagnosis.

I would assume it to be your TOB. And, as stated, the injectors in these cars are noisy but I would imagine you would have heard that by now and this is something new. Do you have the factory retaining sleeve and TOB?

Can you get video of the tick? How loud is it? Is it coming from the engine compartment or the transmission area? If it is coming from the engine, when you stand outside the car with the hood closed, do you hear it more on the passenger side or the driver side?

Typically a tick from the trans area would be a TOB issue, especially if your clutch is adjusted too far up the pedal, but as soon as you put the pedal in, those ticks should go away.

Also, have you changed the oil since buying the car? If not, go buy 7 quarts of Castrol Syntec 0w30 and do a change. Put all 7 in. The factory recommended 5.5 quarts is nowhere near enough.
