No special plates but the body tag attached to the radiator support does have the word "COBRA" stamped into it along with the last numbers of the VIN and other info like paint and interior codes.

A friend is looking at buying a teal 93 and it is a cobra but one thing is weird about the interior: It has the old style dome light and has the little weiner map light between the sunvisors like the 91 and older mustangs. It has grey cloth with power seat option.

Anyone give tech on the interior?

Richard,
Unless someone can prove otherwise, 93 cobras did not come with steel bearing retainers. (or at least mine did not)

This has been a hot debate lately. According to my sources only the T5Z came with that part.

I may have missed it in the first few post but what is the weight difference between the 93 gt and 93 cobra (not r)? I checked on the autotrader website (not very reliable I know) and the gt weighed in the 2600-2700 range but the cobra is listed as 3200 lbs here so I don't see how their could be such a discrepency in weight.

I have had the transmissions out of 2 of my 93 Cobras and my 93R and all 3 of them had a steel bearing retainer.

I know for sure the trans had never been out of one of the Cobras and the 93R.

Sorry dude, but 2771 is a teal car and owned by another member here.

You may want to review your certificate again.

There were no larger front calipers - same calipers as standard 5.0's.

Really. I thought they where the 73mm calipers. I installed hawk pads on my 93. They told me that they where listed as 2 seperate numbers.

no the 73's came on SVO's and certain Lincoln's (can't remember which ones) Cobras came with the same caliper as a regular 87-93 5.0

Damn and all this time I thought I had 73mm calipers. Learn something new everyday. Ford should have put them on. I guess keeping cost down was there goal like no tilt or cruise control. Oh well, just another reason to buy parts.
