Howdy All.... Just wanted to poke a quick wave in here.
I flew to Buffalo,NY Tuesday morning and drove #392 home to NJ . Teal with grey cloth.... Sweet,Sweet car with not even a fart in 71/2 hours driving. I LOVE it!
This car had been previously discussed on these boards and I bid on the e-bay auction for it. The car drives as fantastic as it looks and needs very little.
Yes Sir... That is correct. In addition to picking me up at the air port, Kbillan was kind enough to indulge me with a ride to Niagara Falls, as I have never seen it from the New York side. I'm very happy to have the car and promised to take very good care of it.
In the many conversations I had with Kbillan up to the afternoon I drove the car away, his foremost concerns were bringing the little things in the car back to as original as possible, even in the engine compartment. I know he didn't have the car long enough to accomplish this but I assured him I would continue with his ideals.
So far, I have removed all of the "aircraft" hose dressing BS during a coolant flush and thermostat replacement. I even replaced all of the hose clamps with original Ford ones I had spares of. I did a fuel injection service, throttle body dipping and IAC cleansing. PCV, grommet and screen replacement. Plugs. Replaced the battery cables with OEM Ford cables. One of the drip moldings was a bit out of shape so I found a NOS pair and replaced them both.
Sometime in it's life a cold air kit was installed. One of the first things Kbillan did was to re-install a factory air box and hose set. It had 2 non-Ford clamps on it so I replaced the whole thing with an almost new set I had spare with all the correct Ford clamps I know, I'm an anal bastard . The original plastic vacuum lines for the diverter and dump had a few rubber hose splices in them so I replaced them with a unbroken set I had. The bracket for the mass Air meter was missing so I also replaced it with a near perfect spare I found on E-Bay with all correct Ford bolts. I bought 2 front rotors and pads. One of the interior door handle bezels was cracked a bit so I replaced them both with NOS Ford ones. I replaced the lower shifter boot and the console cover latch.
I know it sounds like a lot but everything is really just cosmetic and general maintenance piddle. I plan to continue until everything is as should be with proper Ford parts. I haven't decided what to do about the lowering and exhaust issues yet.... what would you guys do ??? leave it lowered and loud or lift it back up and guild it with Cats ??
Yea I know it is written in english , not sure if you can read though.
Wasn't try to be smart in the first thread ,not knowing a lot about the 93 I was hoping you could tell me the reasoning behind that amount for that high a mile car but gave you to much credit.

Because depending on the condition of the car, they can easily bring that. The more stock, the better IMO. Tracking down some of the parts for these cars is a bitch, if not impossible on most of it.

You got the answer you deserved, which is more than you deserved.

Thanks for that Buddha. Personally, he's not worth the bother.
I'm with you on "the more stock, the better"
In April of 93' I bought a 1990 GT with 16,000 miles on it because I couldn't afford a Teal Cobra with Grey cloth and Sunroof. Sixteen years and a bunch of mods later, I still have it. I've been plagued with sunroof issues over the recent years and was actually on E-Bay searching for weatherstrip and drain tubing for it when I ran across a 93 Teal Cobra with Grey cloth and NO sunroof, NOOOOOOO SUNROOF !!! . Needless to say I'm over the sunroof thing. Well.... Considering I wasn't even looking for a Cobra, finding one exactly as I would order one if they were available today and under 2hrs flight away, I'd say that's a bit of fate.... I paid the man his money and drove the car home. Did I pay too much ? Shit.... That's for guys like malivuk123 to worry about

Exactly, I found my dream car and jumped on it as well. Teal, black cloth, no sunroof, and no holes in the front bumper.

Heck I flew to FT. Worth Texas paid cash ($15,500) and drove mine home (wish I wouldn't have put on the 1800 miles) but I really enjoyed the drive, I was wanting one of these ever since I took delivery of my 93 5.0 LX in 93. I found mine in 2000 and I love it. $10k is a great price to pay for a 90% stock and clean Cobra. especially if it is something you really wanted. I know people that pay almost 10K for a modded clean 5.0 (LX and GT) with over 100K miles.. This is a super clean looking car worth every cent. Good luck with your Cobra.. I would love to find a clean cobra with some miles on it for under 10K to use as a DD.. But they are so few and far between...
