Replacement speakers for Mach 460?

I am looking into replacing my speakers and I have the Mach 460 stereo. From what I have reserched it seems that the speakers have an 8 ohm impedance and are wired(parallel) so the amp uses a 4 ohm load.

I can't find any 8ohm speakers anywhere, I really don't want to replace the head unit and bypass/remove the amps and run new speakers wire. If you use 4 ohm speakers then the amp will have a 2 ohm load and eventually kill the amp.

Any more information on other options would be great.

Thanks,

-JT

I have pioneer in my trunk and doors. They are direct fit for ford cars. I dont know anything about the ohm stuff. Maybe that will point you in the right direction.

I used to sale and install car audio. evasbird sounds like he put 6x8 speakers in his which is the Ford specific speaker. You can replace the door speakers and the rear deck speakers with these, but the ones located up by the window need to be diconnected to maintain the correct ohm load.
