Too bad the Shelby costs so damn much. I really doubt that most of the owners will be modding like the 04 and previous years have. Sure you'll have a few (like on this site) but I really dont think there will be that many out there. We'll see I guess.
Dave (dgussin) is one of only a few that have modded his out as a privateer. Bussinesses don't count, although their RD does.

The Shelby is the new kid on the block and will outperform the Term if everything is equal. Why keep beating a dead horse trying to squeeze every last HP out of the Term when you can increase your market share by going after the Shelby.
Because the terminator is only about 25-40k less than the shelby right now and they is a much larger owner following to the terminator. On top of the fact also right now alot of people are fairly gunshy to the capabilities and longevity of the shelby's short block. Once again like was stated before this is great info and stellar numbers but alotta people are going to feel that this testing would have been better served on a 03-04 instead of a car that your average person cant purchase.

I fail to see any logic in what you post. You mention the motors' strenght but the "experts" believe the shelby motor is stronger stock vs stock. Also, like mentioned above, people already know the capabilties of of a KB blower on the 4.6.
What do you think drums up more pumblicity/sales for KB?
1. Being first to market with a big blower upgrade for the new hot Pony car and making 800+whp
or
2. Finding a good terminator test candidate to publish more numbers of an exitsing kit (that the general public is alreday testing)?

I suppose you also fail to see the shelby motors that have broken rods at 580rwhp too. Also if i may ask how do you also not see the logic in being able to buy a cobra for 20-30K instead of a Shelby at 40-60K depending on markups. Maybe you would want to start looking a little bit harder man. As I said before this a great thread and awesome numbers but alot of people are going to feel that this study would have been better conducted on a 4.6 cobra. if you cant see logic in that sell your car because you must not be able to see at all. As far as expert saying that the shelby motor is stronger...if my memory serves me correct the cobra short block is twice as strong considering the fact that the shelby isn't a forged motor if that statement is wrong please correct it.

The Shelby has a forged motor.

I suppose you've seen lots of Shelby rod failures at 580whp and thats why you know so much about their construction. Your infinite wisdom is also correct in saying you can get a used Cobra cheaper than a new one especially since it was cheaper when it was new. Maybe they should be testing a kit for the 93 cobras since you can probably find them for 7-10k. Then they can do heads and cam on it to see how those numbers change!!11!
So if kb makes an H for the 03/04's at street boost will there be a increase in horse power?? say at 17-19#'s and 93 octane??? is the H that much more efficient????

i fail to see this, considering that no shelby motor has even thrown a rod yet,
where did you get your info from, you didn't even know that the shelby motor was forged but yet question it's strength, experts on here have said that a term. motor is on borrowed time after 550rwhp because of pistons and experts on here have said that after 600rwhp shelby's or on borrowed time because of the connecting rods but has yet to be seen. ya know if i was you before i put my foot in my mouth again do some research first.

Those numbers are obsurd...who cares about the weight now. That is completely awsome. Good job guys.. all that power.. and im sure it kicks in right away...cant wait to see what bolt ons do.. man the gt500 looks so good. wish I could have one. just hope the motor stays together for a while. With over 500 dyno runs on it sounds like good news.
Uh, what do you think they've been doing for the last 3 years? The sales and learning curve from the Term was what led them to this. Info is readily available about stock vs ported h/c on the Term. There are numerous people who have done it.

Maybe because we love our 1979 Fairmont Chassis..
Fastest car I've ever owned, I love it.

well.. if you race someone in a 300 hp Ariel Atom, you'll care about the weight.. even with your 800 hp GT 500.. (the chances of finding someone with an Ariel Atom is very limited, but it just goes to prove that you can't keep on making cars heavier and heavier and thinking that more hp is going to even the odds)
hell look at the recent article in Motor Trend, comparing the GT500 to the Viper and Z06.. the ONLY reason the GT500 didn't come in dead last (in my book it did, since I don't care about price but performance) was it was half as cheap as the Viper..

I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself a question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?
Those #'s are just plan SICK. It will be hard for a heavy modded Term to hang with the GT500 unless the GT500 driver can't drive. Those #'s are just retarded I'm so jealous and envious
I have a question, all of you are talking about using the new blower on the 03 / 04's for a test bed, and while I understand your standpoint, what wrong with them testing them on the larger displacement shelby as a test bed for the smaller termy? Remember there was a big block before the small block! I believe the same can be said here. I also agree that there is a much larger market with the 03/04 crowd, but this is what everyone said when the 4.6 came out. Out with the old in with the new, this just means ford has to put larger displacement engines in future stangs...
Because we sell full kits. We are in the market for full complete kits for a specific motor in a specific vehicle. We are not in the market for custom kits.
