The new Kenne Bell 2.6H made 704HP/ 734 ft/lbs on the ST Motorsports dyno. The car is a test mule for a big upcoming feature in 5.0 Mustang magazine.
The objective was to determine, through extensive testing, the limits of the fuel pump, injectors, throttle body, meter, inlet system, clutch, transmissions(manual and automatic) and the stock rods and pistons(they gave up at 565hp). A Sean Hyland short block assembly with forged rods and pistons was installed to handle the power to 800 hp - or higher - so testing could continue.
Boost is being evaluated from 9-23 psi inlcuding the new Kenne Bell 10 psi kit with both the Kenne Bell standard 2.6 (9-14 psi) and the latest 2.6 H (15-23 psi). In a direct replacement back to back test with the same pulley, the new 2.6H with it's unique High Internal Pressure Ratio developed an additional 31 HP (652 vs. 621) with no other change. The boost was IDENTICAL for both superchargers. The 31 HP difference was the result of the lower power consumption/parasitic loss of the 2.6H at the higher boost levels. Boost was 19 psi for both the 2.6 and 2.6H. The only HP mod to the engine was a 60mm Accufab throttle body (+25 HP at 565 HP level). Upgrading the stock 90mm meter to the new Kenne Bell HiFlo Oval 1500 meter pushed the HP to 704 RWHP - a 434 HP increase over the stock Mustangs 270 RWHP. With a larger throttle body, some head work and cams, the goal is 800 with the 2.6H. This was basically a 100% stock Mustang GT engine with one power adder. Heads, cams, exhaust, exhaust manifold, compression ratio etc. were stock. The KB BOOST-A-PUMP, larger injectors, Accufab throttle body, KB HiFlo Oval 1500 meter system and custom tune were the only mods except for the Sean Hyland built short block.
To accurately evaluate the difference products and modifications, all runs were made with the same timing (24degrees) and AFR and absolutely never more than "one change at a time".
Check our website for the upcoming "'05-'06 Mustang GT. 4.6 3V Tech Tips" for updates on the above mentioned test and much more. There will even be manual vs. automatic trans (lock up and non lock up) converter test.
James,
yesterday Adam put a KB 2.8L on my 04 Cobra on a 15psi and the car did 540WHP without even trying...
we still have to do some runs again..."love the action of the 2.8L" lol
Adam @ ST Motorsports did all my work...
"Two thumbs up Adam"

thats it for 15 psi!?!? that sounds more like what it should be making at stock psi.

hmmm
as i said "we need to do few more runs"
problems like bad o2 sensors, fule cut...with 540WHP
and 91 octain gas plus we are not done with tuning it yet.....
thnx
mohammed
leave it at regular octane, dang i didn't know o2 sensors would hold you back from that much. But how impressive the dyno numbers were for the shelby with the 2.8kb on top i would of expected not similar results with the 03-04 but better then 540.

lol
as i said... we put a 2.8L KB without even trying to get to the right tune..the car is not done yet..
and i was thanking James for this good kit for the cobra
that was it..but hay thnx for the comment
let me edit that....dyno thing...
556WHP on a 15 psi + 14.5 degreeeZZZz of timing... Dammmmmmmmmmmmn
Yea "no one" put a 2.8 on with no tune, surprised u didnt blow that motor up. But i suppose thats pretty good for no tune. Post up again when u get a good tune, should be a BEAST

Any of these blowers with stock bottom pulley and standard (4") upper pulley will make mid 500's. Tuning, and pulley combos can make monster HP. I am still working on mine, but am at 703 RWHP with a KB 2.8 -- these things are no joke.
