I had the exact same situation with my stang when I swapped in a Novi

Ran perfect before after the swap it wouldnt stay on. Voltage was low

Turned out the Electronic sensor on the alternator was shot. Got that rebuilt, put it back in. And mind you I hadnt messed with the tune or anything....

alright i just hooked it up to the fuel pressure gauge and when i turned the key,it read 29lbs, then when i turned it off, it dropped to about 20lbs in a matter of 50 seconds. Does that mean the car isn't getting enough fuel to start it? How can i check to see if an injector is stuck open? Also, after i put the injectors back in, is it safe to turn the key on and check the fuel pressure that way, so i don't have to put the blower back on?

I just tested mine, and after 10 minutes, it was still steady at 39PSI.

I think you have a bad FPR or at least one leaky injector.

i'll just replace the FPR, i'm pretty sure they're only like 30 bucks. Do you think that the fact that Kenne Bell made the Plenum sit directly ontop of the FPR has anything to do with it? Im not lying when i'm saying that you can't even fit a dollar in between the two

The FPR under the inlet is a PITA, that's for sure. I'd say you couldn't even fit a fart between them.

But I don't think that caused the problem. I am hoping you have a leaking FPR because that is cheap. If it is one or more of your injectors, you will want to get them all cleaned, repaired and calibrated.

ok so i've got a little good news, kinda a success story tonight...i JUST took the blower off, took off all the injectors, put them back in, made sure they were all tight, and re-connected the fuel rail and hooked up a fuel gauge where the shrader valve is....turned the key and it shot all the way up to 39lbs..it stayed there which was great, bc before it was only hitting 29lbs...here's the odd thing...i took the keys out of the car, and disconnected the battery...when i hooked the terminal back up, the car cranked over and tried to start..Good and Bad...Good bc it sounded healthy and was trying to crank like it normally should, still hitting 39lbs..Bad bc it scared the shit outta me seeing as how the keys are IN my pocket..still not sure why it did that, but i've got nothing hooked up other than the fuel components..no IAC or anything like that..

Sorry for the long post, but here's what i'm thinking...Obviously it's getting the needed fuel and spark, so it's gotta be either the vaccum lines or one of the sensors like iac or egr or any of the parts that i've yet to put back on..

You need to have the IAC hooked up. What else do you have not on/hooked up?

Just off the top of my head, the engine can't run without the crank position sensor or the cam position sensor. I am amazed it can even try to start without knowing when it should fire.

How can the PCM control the idle air if the IAC valve is not hooked up.

Why would you not plug them all in?

ok...it finally started..only thing is that it won't start with the MAF sensor plugged in, i bought a brand new MAF today and it still won't start with it, so i'm just gonna send it to my tuner with it unplugged and let them figure it out
