Just want to see what you New Edge guys think of this project.
Dubbed Project "R".
It's my 2004 BIW I am building from the ground up.
So far, 2 years.
Powered by (will be) a Boss 330 built 5.4L "C" headed 5.4 32V,
T56, 04 IRS, Aussie Boss 290 stuff and some custom stuff.
Here's some pics.
The motor will actually fit under a stock GT hood if you cut a hole
and cover it with the scoop.
Edit:
I used all Mach 1 stuff (wiring, backets, etc.) which, for the most part,
is very similar to 99-01 Cobra stuff.

The beginning, bringing it home on a trailer:

I have followed the buildup on the registry and I really like what you have done with the car. I would like it better if you would sell me that cobra wing cheap:D

The fiberboard upper was sent out yesterday to be fabricated in aluminum.
It should be back in about 2 weeks or so.
It HAS been interesting.

allow me to ask a stupid question, is that the aussie 5.4 lower with custom fabbing on top or a 99-01 lower with extended runners, thanks.

It was or is a 2004 Body in white which used to be available from FRPP.
It's basically a brand new body (no VIN) including floorpan,
roof, 1/4 panels, fenders, empty doors, hood and decklid.
No wiring, no suspension, etc.
Here's another pic of one:

It's an Aussie Boss 290 lower and a fiberboard upper,
which was used for fitment purposes, such as TB location, EGR, IAC, height, etc.
It is on its way to Michigan for farication in aluminum.
It will all be available soon in kit form.

was it (lower) hard to get? very expensive? Im doing a 5.4 also Im just building the lower right now I havent gotten to that yet, I was thinking of extending the runners on the factory 99 piece but I dont think that will flow good enough. Looking for options.

Both difficult to get, expensive to buy, and expensive to ship.
It only fits regular "C" heads, not Navi or GT/00"R" heads.
I am getting a bunch more pretty soon.
The 99 lower will not flow nearly enough to feed a 5.4.
Also, there is a lot more to do than just the intake, etc.
A lot more to the swap.
I already did the legwork, and the kit will be available very soon.
PM me here or at the Mach 1 registry if you need details. (same user name)

that looks like the 00R lower intake manifold. is it?? NICE PROJECT BTW!!!
It's an Aussie Boss 290 lower.
Here's a pic of an 00 "R" lower next to an Aussie lower,
which was taken at Boss 330 Racing: (Aussie is on the left in the pic)

You need to start up this beast soon and post a video clip or face BANNAGE!
I still have to completely disassemble the car, and get it on a rotisserie for painting.
It will be a while still.

Been following on the registry also, beautiful craftsmanship

Thanks, it has been challenging but fun.
A big thanks does go out to several people, especially Al Papitto.
He is the originator of this swap, and he has been extremely helpful to me along the way.
In fact, Al did his Red car before the planet knew the 2000 Cobra "R" even existed!
BTW, this is being done with nearly ALL genuine Ford parts, including hardware!

Send that intake to Nazman. Looks like there is alot of material that could be removed with a good port and polish. Thats a sweet setup, I wondered why noone was ordering intakes from Australia to put on their DOHC 5.4's.

Nazman is good, no doubt, but Al will be doing all engine work.
I don't think much can really be done with the intake.
Also, a local buddy with a 98 Cobra
has me doing the 5.4 swap into his car this summer.
Most of the stuff I am doing will fit the 96-98 Cobras also.
