05 GT Wheels

Sorry if this is a question that has been asked, and I'm sure it has, I just couldn't find the answer. Anyways, I'm looking to get some winter wheels early this year and found a cheap set of 17's off a 05 GT, I was just wondering if they would fit on my 99 Cobra. They're stock GT wheels apparently.
Thanks for your time guys
Matt

I really doubt it.. backspacing is almost an inch more than 99-04 wheels.. If you have some spacers laying around, you may be able to make it work.

Ok, well I would be getting these wheels on the cheap, so having to buy spacers wouldn't be that big of a deal. Could you recommend some?

So it should be correctable with spacers then, right?

1" spacers from H&R, MM, etc should do the trick.

So I've done a little bit of research. First I called American Muscle to see if they would know, since they sell spacers. The woman I spoke to was very helpful and said that I wouldn't need spacers. I've also looked at tirerack and compared backspacing on rims for both 99 cobra and 05 gt. The Cobra rims show 5.47" and the gt is 6.02" which, by my calculations, is only .55", not very much at all. So all in all I feel pretty comfortable in buying these wheels. I'll be sure to let you all know how it goes.
Thanks for all your help guys!

You have to remember that the 99/01 wheels sit pretty far in the fender as they are. A half inch may not sound like much, but it's gonna look pretty terrible even if they do fit.

Just wanted to post a quick follow-up. I got the wheels, they're off of an '05 GT like I said before, and had some Blizzaks put on them. I ended up not needing the spacers, they fit and look fine. Well, they still look a little funny to me, but I'm just so used to my summer wheels.
Here's some pics:

And just for reference, my summer wheels:
