Thumbs Up Mazdaspeed6 vs Supercharged 05 GT

Found this posted on MSProtege, cant believe how fast these cars can be!

The MS6 is holding 17-18lbs till 7K rpms(stock is 15.5, drops to 8-10 at 5500) has a cutout which was open during the run, and an AEM CAI

Mustang has a roushcharger @ 6lbs and 3.55 gears and DRs

Has run a best of 7.77 in the 1/8 mile - 1/8 mile Run

MS6 vs 05 GT

This was a street night event, no times, no slips, just a win light.

Take it how you will...

Found a bunch on autotrader, I guess since they did a 2 year run, the prices of the 06 dropped quickstyle.

Cheapest I found was an 06 with 1500 miles for $21995

They look pretty sweet when they are lowered

Here is 2 clips from an MS6 with a magnaflow exhaust, sounds like a boxer!

So that run was on a 1/8 track?

Sounded like he took it up to at least 3rd maybe 4th gear, if it was an 1/8 it appears the GT was gaining on him towards the end. Regardless nice runs and that MS6 would catch alot of stangs off guard.

very nice and impressice to hang with the SCed mustang, i heard the whine second time in the video, the mazda won the 1/8 mile battle but not the 1/4 mile war, the truth is that mustang was gaining lost ground and would have passed up the mazda in the long run..

but still that was nice that he kept up

The Mazda does make 274HP stock so add a couple more PSI and he's gotta be making at least 300HP and it has AWD. But the ROUSHcharger @ 5lbs adds 115HP & 65lb-ft according to their website. Throw in DRs and rearend gears it's hard to believe the Mustang didn't do better off the line. Would have been nice to see some times.

i thought all stang roots blowers were all 112s or better like whipples.

Dont gotta tell us about it, stock on the car ours are fine, throw on an intercooler under the m90 and drop from a 3.8 pulley to a 2.8" pulley, of course the smallest we can run is a 2.55"/2.60" sc pulley. We need a lot of crank/oil relocation work to run any larger cranks than stock with an overdrive.

With my 2.55" pulley i only see around 12-13psi in NJ area at 6000+ rpms, sucks, just doesnt move much air even on a 3.8L v6 cammed/headered and intercooled, i have stock valves too, if i had heads on this car it would be closer to 10psi. I cant imagine an m90 intercooled on a 4.6L

Cobras are the only ones with a m112 blower. If youve ever run into a 99-02 s/c saleen/roush theyre pigs. The 05+ S/C saleens come with a 2.3 whipple, not sure why Roush didnt step it up.
