If you forged a 5.7 liter ls1 with a blower and did It right and you can decently drive you should win.
You can get cheap forged parts and expensive forged parts. A&A corvettes and MTI build some really good motors relitively cheap. Ive seen one of there motors produce over 900 hp.
The problem with centri chargers is they are not instant boost where a kb it so if you go from a stop you will most likely play catch up for a second.
I raced a cobra in my c5 had a procharger on it. The cobra was "Claiming" 600 hp he wouldnt pop his hood. I think he had a stegmire with pulley intake throttle body and tune. I dont know what that adds up to but i doubt its 600 hp. Long story short I left him on the line and had 3 or more cars on him at the end, you can ask andrew my c5 was not one for traction.
They have a few people pulling over 700hp from a stock ls1 bottom end, and they have actually been holding up one for alittle over 2 years now. That is few and far between it all mostly depends on your tuner.
I know of a vette that was home built stock tranny stock rear no brace with a boared out ls1 not forged spraying a 250 shot runnin mid 9's. Last I heard he cracked his block but somehow fixed it.
Everything you do depends on how its done, Kb cobras aren't anything to mess with, they are pretty deadly from a roll on the highway, andrews car is very fast from a roll.
