So what does this mean for the thread last week where the new 08 STI raped a intake/exhaust Cobra. I and most others said it was driver error on the Cobra's part, but there were people defending the STI that I think was supposed to be stock or lightly modded.

The guy in the STI in this vid can drive and apparently the Cobra can too. Given the STI had a weight disadvantage in these runs the Cobra would probably still hang if the STI was just driver.

This is the same cobra from last weeks videos, everyone said he couldnt drive but even this video shows hes not all that bad. Not the best, by far but not a bad driver IMO. These are freeway races, like 70mph On a 70+ roll that new 08 sti would have gotted whooped.

Big difference from a 70 roll and a dead stop.

I wanna see that vid. i like those new STi's, they'd make a good grocery getter/dd.

I find it hillarious that the guy with an intake/exhaust cobra, still under a factory warranty, beats that STi that has tons and tons of mods done to it.

Not trying to get anything started but even though the STI has 4 doors its still lighter by a few hundred pounds, but I get what your are trying to say.

I actually like the new ones. Ran into one on the freeway when they first came out and toyed with it a little, and saw one on Sunday up close. They have a nice muscular design to them. The only thing that could be more aggressive is the front end.

Well it was an AWD car up against an 03/04 Cobra from a dig. The Cobra is a PITA to launch while the STi is king of the dig. . . . . .well at least between those two cars. ;)

There is a some skill needed to not make the STIs bog or destroy the tranny.

"big turbo STi"

that means what GT28R big or GT42R big one size bigger then stock big ?

good races and good to know when I run into a STi on the street with 4 people in it and a "big turbo" that I can beat them . . .

I knew it would get asked, if I would have known I would have mentioned it. Sorry guys. Obviously it isnt a GT35 or anything like that, maybe like GT28 sized.

It ran a 13.0 with a 1.6 60ft before his exhaust and tune. Its alot faster then that now. The cobra has an intake and a muffler and ran a 13.0 two days before this video was recorded. Everyone says the cobra driver sucks, but I think its just a fast sti with a great driver vs a fast cobra with an ok driver

20g is a small turbo for the STi...most are in the 350 range without meth or anything....expected results against the Cobra and GTO, especially with 4 people from a roll...
