I think whenever you see a video that has "<shop name>'s <car name> vs. <type of car>" you always know what the outcome is gonna be heh

Malibu seemed pretty flat. That engine must be used to a HUGE shot of spray.

2003 Chevy Tahoe..stock
Anyways... Nice to job beating a trailer car with a street car.
Wail, gawd-damn boy, mean's that a shop isn't going to be posting a video of their car losing, they try not to do that, makes them look bad.
And that Malibu looked like a mid 11 car at best - it was slow. It certainly wasn't running to it's 150+ MPH potential (if it really needs the drag chute).
no nitrous yet, brand new motor...hence the reason it seemed lethargic

I heard it's good for a 500 shot so it's going to wake up nicely.
I'm a big STi/Evo fan, but I agree that motor in the malibu sounded like it was soft. It definately sounded like a motor set up for a huge shot of nitrous off the bottle. The Malibu killed the Evo off the line too which was impressive. Usually track cars just plain suck out on cold concrete with no traction compound.
Evo is a sweet ride, but once the malibu is on the bottle it wouldn't even be a race. I'd rather drive the Evo every day.

I wouldnt say the malibu killed the evo out the hole. The camera didnt give the angle of the flagger, but it looked like a simple case of the malibu driver having a better RT (not launch) than the evo driver. But none the less, both nice cars.

There are a few videos he has posted before of his Evo8 losing to other cars on the street so I wouldn't say that was necassarily the case.
Malibu seemed soft though, but so did the Evo in this video especially on the launch, bogging and all. There are videos of that Evo regularily launching hard enough to spin all 4 tires on the take off...
for an engine that is timed and tuned to run on spray. and not use spray on that run it rant pretty good. but def would have been over if he sprayed.
exactly right, without nitrous on a nitrous tune it's a bit of a turd, they are still breaking in the new motor, it was just for shits and giggles.

I was on street tires and figured I'd just blow the tires off if I used the 2-step and came off the line at 15psi of boost. So I just revved it up and the damn thing nearly bogged and died, hence the rediculous 60'

that was with the old twin disc exedy clutch, it wouldn't let me shift fast so I was falling out of boost. I've since replaced it with a tilton twin carbon clutch and shifts are only limited by my abilities now but I haven't been back to the track since then. I have a new built shorty, head, cam and coil on plug setup on the way so I might just wait until I get that installed to hit the track again.
