Yikes he got way loose. Hard to hook up that much power on the street, and against AWD in those conditions, he doesn't stand a chance. Wonder how it'd turn out with more traction?

that car has 900+rwhp so making all of that stick on the street with two tires pulling is a tall order, however, if he could make it work it would make me look silly with my measly 633awhp and I'd have to come back with the race gas and 700+awhp in an attempt to save face
At some point, a "street car" becomes not much more than an all purpose drag car.
I think this Chevelle has pretty much hit that point......whether he wants to admit it or not

So your tranny was freshened up because I had recalled that it had finally went? I hadn't seen any of your vids in a while, good to have you back.
at my last track outing the stock transmission had enough of the powershifting at 600awhp lol. So it started making some interesting noises on the drive home. The input shaft, 1 and 2 were in pretty rough shape so I sent it off to Buschur Racing to have it beefed up...I told them I was going to do my best to break it so it better be tough as nails when I get it back

that's what I heard, I didn't see the dyno sheet. I think it's something like a 502 with a 871 blower IIRC

as soon as I read 900rwhp blown and sprayed, I was like no way that is gonna hook and there he was spun them like on ice. definetely got some big balls but useless until you put them to the ground.
Gawd, I love evos... and yes, chevelle would just walk away from that evo if the traction was there but in this case, it wasnt the case

thats it! I am takin' my kia to illegal street racings too.
FWD out launching evo, camaro driver taking a coffee break in between shifts, Z06 running like a 17 second car, etc. I need to hang out with that crew. I think i could make some easy cash .... NOT against that evo though

I think this video just shows how well the evo's can do on the street, mellon have you ever thought of going with the new AMS GT850R turbo with a stroker motor? I think that would be a killer street combo, a little more lag then the GT35R and almost the same power as the 37R.
I hate your videos because they make me miss my EVO. Damn you!
my bad

The 37R is a bit dated now, the HTA86 is better, spools faster, makes as much or more power. The 850R...same thing. The HTA86 is more inline with the Precision 6262 (62mm billet compressor wheel) the latest generation.
I'd love to have a stroker for the low/mid torque but I'd have to limit it to ~8000rpm and that's not going to work for the 1/4 mile...I shift each gear at 8500 and still have to hang 4th out to 9k+ to keep from making that nasty shift to 5th.

Oh wow, didn't realize the strokers can only rev out to 8,000, that sucks :\.

You can take them higher, but at some major risk hehe

I agree...I hear he's coming to memphis for round 2, hopefully he'll stay in it this time, we have 5 lanes to work with up here vs 2 down there so he can get plenty out of shape and stay in it ;)
