Not exactly a fair comparison..... 426 HP... verses 376 and 315... who do you think is gonna win!!
At least the mustang handles better and with some minor upgrades it can beat the Camaro in the quarter mile still for under the price that the Camaro will wind up going for after dealer mark up... The mustang won't have as much "power" but will still be faster....
Why don't they compare the Camaro with the SRT8 Challenger and GT500?
They wanted to get them all in the same price range. The Camaro is priced in the same range as the other 2.... but that is only a "suggested" price.... and Ford does't have a 400hp model just yet.... but I hear a 400+HP NA 5.4 is coming in the form of a Mach 1 or a Boss... still a lot lighter than the Maro.....

there is a thread some where on here from 2 very in the know people who post / use to post here that said 2011 will be a 400hp N/A 5.0 motor.

Yeah, I heard that as well... maybe the people I heard it from were it a bit confused.... or maybe that is what they were hoping for.... I think a 5.4 would be awesome myself...they already have the engine.... just throw it into a car with some decent heads sans charger....

why not? they went by price range...and technically, the ss camaro is the same model range as the gt and r/t. gm just upped the ante by throwin the ls3 in there
the results are to be expected. the '10 stang is pretty much a stop gap car so ford can release the new motors once the camaro hype has died down.
unfortunetely, right now there is too much of a gap between powertrains to equally compare the 3

I like your Cobalt.
Out of the three I would take the Mustang in Grabber Blue despite the performance. I admit that the Challenger looks killer too and can be found at sticker around here, the Camaro will be marked up for sure especially by our shitty local Chevy dealer
I'm very surprised how well the GT stacked up against those cars. It seems next year the top spot is going be an obvious choice.

thanks!! yea the new mustang is growing on me quick! cant wait to see when they offer the more powerful engine! i am definitely gonna wanna pick one up if not a shelby. In general though all three cars are nice and i wouldnt mine having anyone of them in their high-end forms (gt500, z28, srt8).

the mustang is DEFINATLY the most impressive(c'mon, the camaro win was expected!)! i mean, who the hell would have thought that there would actually be positive remarks about the solid axle from a mainstream mag??? **** yes for ford!
the challenger, on the other hand, is really disapointing. you would figure that chryco would give it some minor performance upgrades to fight the camaro like ford did with the 'stang.

they conveniently neglect to mention that the mustang is preproduction. they barely even mention it in the print article. besides, the upper half of the mustang was carried over, and there have never been any window sealing issues in the S197s, so its obviously not a wide spread problem.

I'll take the Mustang any day, no question, especially if Ford goes through with the 5.0 next year. I gotta commend GM on the Camaro, they did what they said they we're going to do, but I just don't like the styling of it at all, and thet interior is hideous. Challenger is cool, but too heavy. I gotta admit, the R/T stripes look sweet. Ford has stepped up with the new Mustang, just give me a little more power and it's the perfect car in my opinion.
Why don't they compare the Camaro with the SRT8 Challenger and GT500?
Because the GT500 and SRT8 have printed production numbers and are top of the line cars, the SS is just a factory V8 car.
A fair comparison would be the new Z28 against the GT500 and SRT8.

Just because the Mustang is a slower factory car with outdated technology doesn't make it an unfair comparison.
Thats Ford's decision.
Im not a Ford hater I have even owned a 2V but dollar per HP Ford has always had trouble keeping up.
