Here's one way to keep from reposting. Look at the date on the vid you posted. 10/28/2008. If the video is over two weeks old, there's a really high probability it has been posted especially if it has cars like the ZR1 and GTR in it.

ok so i just watched this video, and I really dont understand why everyone humps the gtr the zr1 just put it to shame porsche also put it to shame cause they where lying about #. Ive seen a million videos there gtr is getting its ass handed to it so someone tell me what the big f'n deal is about this car? It must be that break ur trans option that has everyone. This car is a flop!!!

And why didn't they run 7:29? Because Porsche said they didn't ? Porsche doesn't even have a video providing proof that they even test the GTR....all heresay!

As an aside, GM does not take seriously Dodge's run with the ACR because the car was not in street-legal trim. See page 24 of the November 2008 Car and Driver for more on the specific FMVSS statutes an ACR with its crucial front splitter (1/3rd more front downforce) violates. Lowering the car as they did was even worse. That was a material handling edge and the ride height would no longer have been street legal. Non street legal is a slippery credibility slope that GM is not only not going on but has gone to great pains to disclaim with the ZR1's run. Those who think a given car is OK even if not street legal as long as it or its non street-legal mods are provided by a manufacturer should be advised that this line of thinking can be taken to its logical extreme ending with turn key factory provided race cars from Dodge, Porsche and GM.
Non-street legal is a Pandora's Box best left unopened.
In any event, there is something GM can do to the Vette and still remain essentially "stock". Watch for it next year when Ring season opens. Remember where you heard it first.
Moderator should lock this thread as the claimed Ring time is factually incorrect. No such run took place.
