I don't buy it.. A stock 2003 EVO VIII weighs over 4000lbs man, even with decent weight reduction you're still looking at 3700-3800lbs.. The Viper stock only weighs 3436lbs. There is no way an 3700lb EVO making 600awhp can walk a 3400lb 674rwhp Viper from a roll like that.. It just doesn't make sense..
Uhhhhm Evo VIII's actually weigh 3,200 from the factory. We were talking about it last night before the race, the Viper and Evo are actually very similar in weight.

?? The cubr weight of an Evo is in the 3350 neighboorhood. no where near 4000. The viper is around 3700 iirc.

Yea you're right, he said he was making around that when he raced you when your spray wasn't working. But then last night he was saying that he is making more now, I think. Also, this is what I read on Dallasimports...this is the guy that tuned his car before his new setup (different turbo)

ah his mod list didnt change from what I could tell between the runs with Tony and the Viper so i assumed he was making the same power.
I think the viper is a bit lower on power than that. The same evo only put 2 lengths on a porte eaton/spray cobra that made 660/712. cobra's and vipers are also about the same weight.
Actually, the Viper is a good few hundred pounds (~3400) lighter than a Cobra, which makes it even more confusing
what's really amazing is its a 4cyl vs a 10cyl... wow.

I probably should also mention that when I beat him I was on 93 octane at 30psi and 600awhp the way I drive it to work every day, instead of Q16 @ 40psi and 700awhp and better tires.

It looked like the Evo was Brake-boosting on the roll, that is what kept it even from the start. There goes the vipers torque advantage on the roll race.

That's what would have kept it even if they were making equal power. The Viper has to literally make 200 more ft. lb. of torque. The Evo is flat out making bigger numbers.

I don't know if you are talking about the same ported/spray Cobra from
drwprtcht's last video, but the Silver Evo races a SB ported/spray Cobra in that video and it is definately a bigger gap than 2 car lengths between the two of them!
