I would ditch the 347 and go with a big block 390 with a top loader 4 speed. As far as paint I would do a gloss black with a bright blue C stripe and add the GT grill and trim on the car!!
ahh.... paint it green and BAM! re-live the movie "Bullet" every time you drive the car.
I recently finished restoring a 69 mach, went the stroker route. 408, shelby "stealth" to allow the proper fitting of the shaker, fully built bottom, and hydraulic roller +lifters. Paired to a toploader and 3.55's shes got some pep.
Actually, due to the shaker fitment, the engine is starving for air, but originality wins in our case and the engine should be somewhere in the 415-450hp range.

Hell yeah, nice 69. Ill try to snap some pics of mine and drop them in here if the weather permits. Its a "platinum titanium silver frost" to be exact color. Long name, pretty much is a cross of a dark shadow gray, with a very bright silver and some metallic flake thrown in. We chose to do the hood flat black, and have black decals and some other small accents on the car.
I believe it's called Dresdon Blue. Honostly i think you should have an original color like candy apple red with the black C-stripe on the sides.
Thats my choice, white to make it look like the original CJ's would be second.
Are you going with the original power steering or converting to rack and pinion? The original is the worst feeling, worst driving steering you can ask for. It is totally numb! I had an S-code '69 Mach 1 and took the PS off after a few months of driving. If you want easier steering stay with the manual box, if you want quicker ratios, get the PS box, but just use the manual linkages. I left the PS box and while sitting still the steering was HEAVY, but moving it was tolerable.
sonic blue? this one is sonic blue, 1967 a guy from jba headers, (he works there. This is his.. sick!
Wow this car is beautiful. This is wallpaper material!

I think we are going to go with a rack and pinion setup but we really want power steering.

Body is in decent shape, has some putty. Car has new torque box and new floors, the rest of the car is solid all original
i would do it in a Higland green black or a blue but Please dont not do the eleanore look with it
I respect the history behind the color "Highland Green" with this car but for me personally I'm not a fan of that green, it is uninspiring to me .
And don't worry there will be no "Eleanor" conversion with this car, however I do believe we owe "Gone in 60 Seconds" a debt of gratitude for making these cars even more popular and valuable.
I bought the car w/ 14" cragar ss wheels. They're history. I have eye on torque thrust wheels that are 17x9 w/ 6.5 backspacing. These rims are currently on cooper 285/40zr17 tires. Is there any reason these wheels would not fit the stock hubs? The front has disc brakes but the caliper is standard size.
