Project Car...1968 Fastback





This is our project car, a 1968 Mustang Fastback, that my younger brother and I are working on. We love the 67-68 Fastbacks, our favorite classic Mustang. We have already pulled the engine/transmission. We are building a 347 Stroker with a Z-rated T-5 transmission, AFR Aluminum Heads, Big Cam, roller rockers, headers etc... We plan on doing a total resto but it will take time and money. The drive train is our first priority along with powersteering LOL. Eventually we will replace all suspension components and install a beefy 9in rear end. We haven't decided on a color yet so suggestions are welcome.
Can't wait to get this baby on the road, ETA June '09!

I love that car! I just bought a 70/71 351 Cleveland a few weeks ago 4v motor heads intake all there, No car for it though.

Color Suggestions: Cyber Gray (I know it's a chevy color, but it's soo cool), DSG, Bullet Green.

Azure Blue could look cool too.

man my dad had one that exact color but with 2 black stripes on the hood when i was growing up. dumbest thing he did was sell it he said.

id go midnight blue w/pearl white stripes and a light cream or solid black interrior

If I had that car I would make it look like this.. Talked to the guy about it Jet black paint with 20% tint.

I love Black, I'm trying to talk my bro into a deep black. Would love to see some pics. Bottom line you can't go wrong with the color paint as long it is done right. Put some badd ass chrome wheels on her and she'll be turning headz!

With black on a 40+ year old car the body is gonna have to be perfect. The guy has a carspace page, has 17x8 wheels in front 17x9 in back (torq thrust ll's.) Good luck with it man, makes me want a 67-68 BAD!

I would ditch the 347 and go with a big block 390 with a top loader 4 speed. As far as paint I would do a gloss black with a bright blue C stripe and add the GT grill and trim on the car!!
