What is the rest of the setup on the F-body? Please tell me you are running TF or AFR or even LS3 or LS7 heads and not a 241 or 243 casting on such a badass motor. What size cam are you running as well? LS6 or Fast intake? I see way to many people building badass shortblocks and skimping on H/C/I selection.

they are 317 heads done by T.E.A. and a fast intake. the cam is mild 254/256 599/599 112+2. he cant decide whether to spray it like it is or put trick flow heads and a bigger cam to get over 600 to the ground .

Just a heads up, 243 casting heads can make just as much power as the other quality aftermarket heads when done right. Not some TSP or Patriot bullshit.
That SS MOVES

There are too many variables with 243,241,317 or any other stock casting head though. They do not make the power of AFR's or Trick Flows on a consistent basis. Sure there are a few guys with big dollar ported stock castings making the #'s but they are few and far in between. It is easier to do it with the TF or AFR but I do see what you are saying. For the cost of TF and AFR though I would look at a ported set of LS7 heads from WCCH. He could sell the Fast and port a stock LS7 intake and easily hit 600+ on motor. But it is cheaper to spray it till the ****ing t-tops cave in due to the g-forces.
Oh and BTW I ****ing love Pewter. I miss mine so much sometimes.
I wish Modulars had LS motor displacement options.
I say spray it and pick up some nice torque.
I was at the performance shop I use a few weeks ago, and was talking with a guy who had a 02 WS6 with a iron block 408 and he had Brodix(spelling) heads, but he said that they weren't the most efficent/best flowing heads for N/A applications, but that he did it intentually because he set it up for N2O. Why would less efficent heads be better for spray?

I did not know Brodix made LSX heads. They make stuff for old school SBC's and BBC's. Iron block 408's are common and cheap persay at around 3500 for a shortblock as they are built off the LQ4 6.0L truck motor. A mild heads/cam 408 will put down over 500rwhp and almost the same torque. A 200 shot on top like most do is pretty tough to beat.
big red your are forgetting All Pro Heads they flow more CFM than any LS7 head out there. And if you want to go BIG DOG add a "HARROP HURRICANE" LS1 8 Butterfly Inlet Manifold. Here is the link 99-AMFD7022-00 My buddy is running one of these on his 08 C6 Z06 and man let me tell you this is the setup is BADASS!
