Wow that LS1 was out. Lets say the Camaro was only H/C, what would the outcome be? I thought the Cobra was going to easily pull on the LS1. Nice kill for the LS1.
Edit: And at what MPH did they start/finish?

Fast catfish for sure. 15psi with a 2.2 kb I am assuming would be about what Posi's ported eatons are making right now HP wise at the same boost level and the KB would be down on torque. I would never run below 17psi if I were spending the cash on a TS. When I had my Whipple I was planning on running no less than 19 psi myself.

Depending on his setup he can be making anwhere from 440-490 rwhp. The lower end being ported stock castings. The higher end being Trickflows with a ported Fast 92 intake. Gears really wake up f-bodys as well espcially with bigger cams that can be a bit lazy. He definately had a pretty decent sized cam to run like that up top.
Keep in mind that KB at 15 psi is prob making 530 rwhp or so and prob less than 500rwtq. At those boost levels that blower is useless compared with some of the newer ports.
big reg that does make since now that u said that. i have a 01 gmc sierra c3 with a 6.0 in it and would like to throw a set of cams and headers on it. any suggestions from anyone and how are they as far as driveability issues? i just really dont know anything about the chevy's to be quite honest. the truck is being painted flat black next week and wheels are being powder coated flat black too. the truck came stock with i think 365 from the factory and is AWD so it rolls it pretty good already. btw already has intake and handheld programmer tune. thanks for any help in advance. oh and don't mean too hijack the thread just thought it would be a good time to ask since i have no ****ing clue.

Good thing about the LSX motors is cam swaps are pretty cheap. You only need 1 cam and they can be custom ground for 375-400 bucks. I would suggest something in the low to mid 220's duration range for a heavy truck to retain most of the low end torque. A tighter LSA (lobe separation angle) will determine idle. If you want a rough idle go with a 112 lsa. With a good tune you will have no driveability issues. This is a popular cam with the Trailblazer SS guys. 214/220 .559/.564 111.5 LSA. Speed Inc sells this cam and gets great results with it. Even a 224/224 on a 112lsa and Comp XE-R lobes would work great in a truck. A cam kit complete with springs, pushrods and cam will set you back around 600-650 new. You can buy them used from LS1tech for a decent price. Just always ask for pics when buying a used cam. I found out the hard way.

great info big red thanks a lot man! what about headers? are they worth it on this particular motor? i just think a cam with the truck being murdered out would be sinister. labor wouldn't cost anything and could be done at my shop. much cheaper than expected. i may pm u in the future for some more info and thanks again.
