Great races! You guys plan to go to the track at all??? That would be cool to see both cars hooking well and running it out the back door! Too bad you guys are so far away....we would be a good race as well!

From what I could tell, he's probably got a solid mph or two on me up top. The only thing holding him back was that 3/4 shift. You can see in most of the vids that once I shift to fourth (low in fourth is a dead spot with this trans), he starts pulling because he's at the top of third. I'm curious to see if my RPM coming up in fourth and his extra shift at that point would even out or if he would keep pulling though. It will be interesting when he gets that fixed.

Thats the same thing I was thinking.

I would like another shot, If you see the first race I hit fourth and things were getting interesting You were stopping my pull for sure. I just swapped out that thermostat, that we spoke about. It went from running @ 220-230 during those races and cruising @ 210, to running @ 150-160 cruising and 170 racing. Who would of thought that my car runs 50-60*'s cooler from putting a more restrictive t-stat in, . So it should be a better run considering that last couple races I was having to come back from behind because of your gears, and my heatsoak, and needed to p-shift to make up the difference, but the first race we left from 40mph and I wasn't p-shifting and it was a good race. By the time I needed to shift to 4th, in the last couple races, when we were even I was touching 7000rpms and the vibration was just too much for the synchros to line up.

I raced a 351W hatch yesterday and was banging 4th no problems. Although It was a younger kid and I was granny short shifting to keep things interesting, hehe. I even tested banging 4th on the way home from our races, and @ 6400 its no problem. 7k is impossible. I even sprayed my car yesterday coming home from the race scene and hit 4th with no issue, but again it was at the shift light (6400). If you look at the vid I posted of me vs. the red notchback when he jumped the gun on me, I was so concerned about being behind I was p-shifting and pilling the car and missed 4th on that run too. I just gotta concentrate on that light, or rebuild the trans considering it grinds anyway.


Also, where does your 4th end. Because I can pill mine to 135+
