97cobra vs charger r/t

Well i finally had a run in with a black r/t on the way home from work today. I was headed down through town and seen a black charger in front of me. So I held back till traffic cleared, and we got even and i counted to three and we hit it at about 70 and ran up to bout 125 and i put about three cars on him. and he threw his hand up and went on. So he was pretty cool about it,Anyways i was happy to get a hold of one...................

Yep....R/T's aren't much to worry about...generally mid 14s with mid/upper 90s traps.

I did about the same thing with a 5.7 charger, But the 09 Chargers have a bit more power. Can't wait to get a race on with an 09'er...lol Not sure on the new power maybe 385hp and 390 tq for just the 5.7liter. my numbers maybe off.

The car is a fat ass, north of 4,000 pounds so all the HP is not going to make it a track monster. But it is sexy.

The best stock times I've seen from them are low 14's/high 13's trapping 99-102. The slow gear ratio and weight is what kills them.

From what I've gathered......high 13s, low 14s is light bolt on ETs....either way, they're on par with a stock new edge GT.......and yep their 2.7x (?) gears don't help worth a crap.

I loved the ride of the daytona's, but extremely unimpressed with acceleration I was...oh, and the arm rest position on the door...VERY poor. LOL

The ride in a Charger is pretty nice. They're good for long road trips, but not very effective in a race. Unless you have an SRT-8.
