C5 Z06's (more than one) have been documented in the 11's. That's not in dispute. Yes the runs were made on the East coast in good weather with great drivers, but nonetheless it's been done several times over.

Lol, that is true, but compare prices on those mods. Believe me it is ridiculously expensive to mod a Vette.
Thats why i sold mine. full exhaust was like $1500, bad A** car but i had to sell it.

Get bolt-ons and a 2.80 or 2.76 pulley and you will win, even then it won't be a slaughter.
I have beat pullied cobras before, i would usually pull away slow in 4th. not buy much but win is a win.

Walk might happen, u should win with 500 at the wheels but it wont be a easy kill. mine old 02 Z06 was 3060lbs.

I'd have to verify in person a stock older ZO6 run an 11 anything, and I would have to look at the car as well myself and not on youtube. But yes the 03 Z should cook a stock Cobra, by .2-.6 all day long equal drivers.
C5 Z06 have went 11s stock and C6 Z06 10s with sticky tires.

Nice time for your buddy. my best was 12.23 117.00 mph with 2.00 60foot, street tires.

I have a bone stock '03 Z06 and like everyone else said, it's not pretty for a stock Cobra.
I also happen to have a pullied and bolt-on '03 Cobra motor in my stang and it puts buslengths on my Z06 in the 1/4. From a roll it's a little better for the Vette but the stang still pulls on it.

When we talk stock do we mean tires as well, I would put a crisp 50 that an 03 Z06 bone stock given 5 runs wouldn't hit eleven but maybe once in good weather and a sticky track, of coarse I'd have to see the car and not on you tube, sorry #'s are easier to spit out than to actually put down.

Nobody's saying it's easy or common, but the bottom line is that it's been documented, proven and generally accepted as factual. I know more than one of them have been accomplished at Atco (sticky track) in good air (they regularly see negative DAs in the Fall).

Hey I like to see someone with a little proof but again it will take more than a list for me to believe a stock 03 Z06 hitting 11's consistantly, let me guess C6 Z06's easily run 10's off the showroom and the new ZR1's can go 9's with my mom driving... Oh and we've all seen people claiming low to mid 12's with bone stock 03/04 Cobras as well but when you actually see one at the track it's a very high 12 to mid 13. Oh and let's not forget the good launch and clean powershifted 04 Cobra on pass time that ru a 12.3 now if that happened on the internet it would have also been a mid 11.

If the only think it'll take is for you to see it in person, than you may never be convinced.

I've owned my Cobra for almost 5 years, have drag raced it many times each year (over 300 passes on it). I've been to the track as much as anybody but....get this.....I've never seen a BONE STOCK cobra run 12's. I've seen 13.0 at 110, I've seen friend's go low 13's, I never ran mine stock, but doubt I would have gone 12's with it.

However, that doesn't mean I don't believe bone stock Cobras haven't gone fairly deep into the 12's.

Maybe living in WY at altitude (an assumption on my part) has jaded you as to many cars' capabilities in great DA conditions with great drivers.

BTW, the Corvette Forum's qualifications for getting on the list are more stringent than almost any site out there (especially for a top-10 submission):

In proposing submissions for inclusion on the list, please follow these simple rules:
(1) Post the details of your quarter-mile pass in this format: (here is a template to cut and paste)
Year of the Z06
Tires used on the pass
Performance Mods (if any).
Which catagory
60'.............
330'...........
660'...........
660’ mph...
1000'..........
1320'..........
1320’ mph…
Comments: name of the track; weather conditions. Density Altitude, if known
Note: your submission won't be acted upon by Robert or me, unless it is in the above format.

(2) Times that may qualify for the top-10 in each category require posting of an image of the time slip. If you lack the ability to post an image, contact Robert56 or me via PM, and we will help you.

(3) Track times will not be corrected for weather or track altitude. Those elements can be noted in the comment portion of the submission to clarify the conditions under which the run was made. If interest merits, we can include a single category for fast times at tracks with altitudes, say, above 3000’ for the official track elevation. Please let us know if there is interest in such a category.

(4) All members are invited to submit his/her times on this thread. The top 30 or so for each category will be included in the Fast List. Only one pass per member per car per category will be included on the Fast List.

(5) In the event two members submit an identical 1320’ ET, the tiebreaker is the higher 1320’ mph.

Appreciate member support for bringing back the Fast List and the moderators' accommodation for making it easy to find as a sticky.

Those wishing to consult the original thread now found in the archives without active links to images and videos, it is here: Z06 1/4 Times Stock and Bolt On List

Oh and don't forget the C5 Z06 on pass time that was equipped with a twin screw blower I believe, "had a lexan window through the hood so you can see the blower", I even told my wife to watch "this one" then when it ran mid twelves, she rolled her eyes at me and it was a clean pass to boot, If I remenmber right. Reality does stink, but what do you do.

After several visits to different tracks, I have come to the conclusion that people are VERY optimistic, SORRY PEOPLE, but any time a car runs in the 10's or low 11's that I have seen, it grabs your attention alot more than a stock Vette.

I ran a 13.2 @ 108 stock against a 2.2 KB at 19psi wich ran a 12.8@110 and he thought I had more mods, and was in disbelief because it was soo close.

I thought we were back on the Terminator, in wich 12.07 sounds impossible but I'm sure there are some extremely good drivers with a good luck streak in fast cars that can do it, but not on a regular basis. I believe your 12.07 in the Z06, but I'll bet you didn't have to many runs close to that again though. I think people believe thay can simply go pick up a stock C5 Z06, make 1 pass at the track and bring home an 11 second timeslip.

I watched your 12.07 pass "very nice" and also a great launch on street tires. "No cold air kit", "nothing"?
