When I had my 06 GT full bolt-ons I saw 300rwhp 310RWTRQ on an MD the base tune was vmp 295rwhp and then Tony G tuned it to 300rwhp heat soaked. I would love to see a 99-04 GT put those numbers down with just bolts ons on a MD. The win goes to the S197 all day long. Most 99-04s with bolts-ons are way below that on a dynojet . PERIOD

Mods on the GT:
C&L Street intake
FRPP Delete plates
JBA LT
O/R H
4.10s
steeda U/D
Manual Trans

i know i will get flamed for this one but im sorry, pre 05 GT's were complete dogs. the cobras were good and the only thing that saves the S197 is they gain so much with bolt ons. i came from the chevy side and it sill bugs me that a GT still isnt as fast as a 10year old fbody. flame away lol.

99-04 Mustang GT Vs 05+ Mustang GT

Stock vs. Stock win = S197
Mod for mod win = S197

Stock the 05s already have a 40+ hp advantage, a broader torque range, rev higher and yeah they are heavier but not by much.

I agree with everything you say here, but I'm just glad you said it instead of me. 96-04 GT's never have impressed me, and yes I've owned one, actually they are really nice and tough sounding cars, but they just don't have it where it counts.

People are missing the point of the thread here Everyone should know that the 05+ GT's will win stock for stock and for mod. But O.P is not asking about that, he is asking about his MODIFIED 03 GT vs a STOCK auto 05 GT. O.P race him and record it, I still say that O.P's GT should have the edge on the 05.

well i don't think you will unless he is just a bad driver. you would need all the boltons.plus heads. to keep up. I did state that i raced one with full mods to my stock car and he still lost by almost 2 cars @ 100mph it it was only getting worse for him. I wish you the best of luck though as i love to beat friends too.

this is from my experience when i raced a few s-197 when all i have was a o/r x-pipe, cai and sct chip. i'd win the 1/8 mile but they'd pull on me on take the win in the 1/4.
w/ your mods and he being stock you'll definitely win.

Well I did not get to run that 05 gt lastnight. He backed out on me at the last minute but I did get to run a 2007 stage 1 roush. He had a few mods done to his car. He told me that he had 4.10 gears short thro shifter cai and shorty headers with a good tune. We went from a 20 roll and was dead even till i missed 4th gear. and finished up with him being 3/4ths a car a head of me by the time we passed the designated finish. all in all i was pretty happy with the run except for missing 4th. I seriously need to learn how to launch from a dig with my DRs on. I ran a truck from a freaking dig.( truck was pretty stout) and just stalled like crazy off the line. basically gave him a 2 car head start and pulled back to half a length by the finish. Had a lot of fun lastnight.
