Just cost me $180 and 5 points to rape this 350Z! Bittersweet is an understatement!

So this 350Z is tailgating me for like 10 blocks.. Finally pulls up next to me after a while and I'm like, oh this thing is just stock with some old guy driving..

Then I see his license plat "ZYALATA"

I was gonna turn right but the light turned ahead and I was like alright I gotta waste this chump just on principal alone.

Like an idiot I didn't do my usual 360* check for the narks..

I revved a bit and he looked over and motioned like he had something in the seat.

So I'm like ok nevermind right.. And just take off normal and shift 1st, 2nd, 3rd.

But this guy downshifts and starts to go for it!

So I just stay in 3rd and floor it. It's climbing slowly because I was about 2000rpm when I mashed it.

We're neck and neck.

I'm pproaching 3000rpm and he has to shift.

The powerband kicks in and I left him like he was standing still LOL!! Shut it down at only about 10mph over the limit.

Great right!?

NOT! Just then the flashing lights come up behind me. They get me and let him go!!!!

DAMN!

The cop says, "What you didn't see me at the gas station!!?? You didn't see me pull out behind you??!!"

Me: "No sir I'm and idiot!"

Cop: "Well you kicked his ass, and it sounded awesome!"

Me: "I guess.........."

I ended up getting an "exhibition of speed" ticket. Obviously since he had no radar on me, just the fact that I blew this chump away.

That's what happens when you roll the dice I guess. Snake eyes!

same thing happened to me a few weeks back. i ran this mazda rx8 lol, no one usually likes to run me but this guy wanted to he even had the glowing lights on the bottom like in too fast too furious. anyways i end up leaving a few cars on him and then the lights show up the other guy takes off like he wasn't racing and i pull over.. he gave me a warning though. i think it was cause the other guy didn't stop.

good break. there are alot of variables that go into rate hikes.

maybe you could go to court and plead guilty and try to get it dropped to a lesser charge. offer to do community service, etc.

my rates usually went up $50/mo with each speeding ticket i incurred, my highest i was paying was $240/mo when i had the cobra, its back down to $180ish now. ive been ticket free since 07, so hopefully it continues its downward spiral.

try to work it out in court before it goes to your insurance... ask for deferred adjudication (sp?) basically probation double or nothing...

+1 on alot of places taking you to jail and taking your car for street racing, that cop was actually cool and probably owned a muscle car too.
My last ticket i had, i went to court and went up to the officer that gave it to me. I told him that my wife will kill me if i get more points on my license and insurance goes up. What can we do. He up'd the amount from 108 bucks to 150 bucks and changed it to a parking violation. i was happy to pay the extra.

same thing happened to me when I had my 04 cobra. I was next to a 05 GTO(the 6.0 one) for like ever. I was wanted to see if my car could take his but I really wanted to go from a dig. But, everytime I would pull away from the light he wouldn't go. So I was going to turn and give up when I noticed that he wanted a roll race(gayness I know). Well I normally don't roll race because the speeds get a little too high. But, I said **** it and went anyways. I got up till about 90-100mph when we were about to shut down(I was like 3 cars ahead) and thats when I saw the cop sitting in the Oscars just waiting to pull out after us. He ended up pulling behind me and then flew next to my door and told me to stay still and wait till he gets the other guy too. Well he got both of us in this one parking lot and came to my window first. He said that he was going to give me the ticket first because I won the race, his words were "dude you were like 3 cars ahead". It was $300 and 6 points.

The worst part about it the 350Z just let you win because he saw the cop.

What gears do you have if you're above 3k and climbing in 3rd and only 10mph over the limit? I've got 3.73's and i can take 2nd gear to just about 55mph...
Good kill tho I guess

I rolled past a cop at well over 100 on the main drag in Ocean City (40 MPH zone) between an EVO and an S4 a few weeks ago. I got away with a 50 in a 40 and spinning tires. Luckiest break of my life....... EVO was pulling on me hard though. He got hit with about $500 of tickets though.... S4 completely got away, I guess the cops felt sorry for him since he was wayyy behind us.

Wow lucky he didnt impound your car. My brother got caught in my Cobra racing a WS6. Luckily they didnt impound my car but still had to pay over 2k for court, ticket, and lawyer. He also had to miss a couple of work days. Funny thing he told me was that one of the cops (there were about 4 cop cars, they blocked the end street so they wont get away) saw the car and was like "Wow, a Cobra!! No wonder the Trans Am lost". LOL!
